It is great to be able to get such a good value room in such a nice location - perfectly situated on both the Thames path national trail and the ridgeway national trail. The guy working there was very friendly and helpful. YHA hostels are always pretty good for cleanliness and comfort when compared with other hostels.

United KingdomWe were welcomed by the manager and given our room key. The room was very clean and warm. We had arrived on our motorbikes and were quite wet. The drying room was brilliant, and a great feature of youth hostels. We had a great nights sleep, and had breakfast before we left. Great personal service all round .couldn’t do enough for us.

Located in the picturesque village of Streatley in Berkshire, Streatley Youth Hostel is a Victorian house set next to a particularly scenic part of the river Thames. Free private on-site parking is available and Goring and Streatley Rail Station is only a mile away.
The Ridgeway, an ancient trail described as the UK’s oldest road is just 450 feet from the hostel and is a great starting point for bike rides and walks. Beale Wildlife Park and Gardens is within 3 miles of the hostel and the Living Rainforest, an indoor tropical greenhouse, is just 5 miles away.
YHA Streatley is conveniently located between Reading, Swindon and Oxford. Reading can be reached within 30 minutes, while Swindon and Oxford are less than an hour’s drive. Central London is just over an hour away by car or by train.
The hostel’s room sizes vary from private twin bedrooms to large dormitories. Guests can take advantage of the common lounge and dining areas, as well as the communal kitchen.
Couples in particular like the location – they rated it 10 for a two-person trip.
