So many shops and places to eat, it's a bit like a time warp with no people pestering trying to get you to buy fake sunglasses and watches, even the shop/bar & restaurant staff leave you alone and let you make your own decisions. Also there is a world war 2 museum up the hill that is well worth a visit.

Good family oriented resort with lots of eating options from casual to more formal, international to traditional Cretan, close to visit Chania on an excellent bus service. Platanias has a main road running through the street with hundreds of great restaurants and tourists shops, along with many mini supermarkets. Platanias has a beach with calm water and a shaley beach.

Busy main road, but many apartments off side roads. Good Greek bars and restaurants, which I prefer. Although lots of modern bars and shops if you want. Couple of dancing bars, not if your face, no nightclubs which is good. Restaurants serving tradition food - Nisos (by sea), Sonos (by sea). Drosia (side road). Great cocktails and drinks at Utopia, great staff, more Greek like.

Was just ok, the rooms are clean but the furniture is old and the towels stained. Breakfast was good but the same every day, the beach in front not so clean and full of little stones. The employes war friendly, specially the cleaning ladies. The garden was well cared of, lots of flowers and trees.

The rooms are spacious and clean. One very nice detail is that you can flush your toilet paper, which sounds trivial, but is a precious luxury on the island of Crete. Dimitris, the manager, is always friendly, accommodating and fun. He can often be found manning the pool bar, where you can order a nice tosti, salad or gyros plate. I will definitely come back here.
