This friendly accommodation is in Lygaria village, about 70m away from the village’s beach. On the north side the property has a perfectly placed veranda, where you can relax throughout the day and enjoy the panoramic sea view, while having your coffee, your lunch or dinner, or while reading your favorite book. In the back yard (on the south side of the property), there is a relaxing area with sunbeds and a traditional stone oven, where you can enjoy the summer sun or prepare a tasty launch or dinner for your friends and family. The house offers free Wi-Fi internet access and a fully equipped kitchen with all the facilities you might need for the preparation of your breakfast and your daily meals. Inside the rest of the house there is a cozy living room with a 50” flat screen smart TV, a fully renovated bathroom with a walk-in rainfall shower and three bedrooms. Two of the bedrooms are furnished with double beds and the third bedroom has 3 single beds and one foldable single bed, making it ideal for the kids of the family or the group.
The bay of Lygaria can be reached from Heraklion Airport in about 25 to 30 minutes (23km). Located at the east end of the region, this long coarse sandy beach is often quieter than its neighboring bays, particularly during the week. Even at the weekend, when the locals arrive from nearby Heraklion, it is still remains very enjoyable. The beach offers generous spacing between sunbeds and good swimming. There is also public changing and washroom facilities and a lifeguard present at busy times. Tip: At some places on the beach, there is rock Shelving as you enter the water, so some care is needed, and it could be worth investing a pair of swimming shoes. Lygaria as well as the beaches to its west are safe from the Meltemia (summer winds which can sometimes hit the northern coast of Crete). It is popular as a perfect place to relax in a quaint setting after some partying at the well-developed Agia Pelagia that lies close to Lygaria.
