Everything needed (bakery, grocery, super market for supplies, open food markets, organic farmers market, coffee shops, vegan bistro, tavernas, dry-cleaning service etc) is around the house, no car needed. The majority of monuments & sights like the archaeological Museum, the White Tower, the Byzantine Museum, the Church of Agia Sofia, the Macedonian Centre of Contemporary Art, the Aristotelous Square, the Jewish museum, Modiano Market, Ataturk house, Bey Hammam, and as well the Helexpo Convention Center and the Port, are all a few minutes walking distance.
