We had a blast exploring the entire island. We came during their winter when temperatures were 55-59 F, and for the first few days, had little sunshine and lots of wind. We definitely needed our warm jackets, and bought gloves and a hat. However, the last few days were sunny and delightful. Best thing was, there were no crowds, anywhere, in January. We are photographers, and delighted in the photos everyone comes to Santorini to get, without having to work around the crowds. We rented a small Fiat Panda from Sixt, and it took us up the switchbacks to Ancient Thera, down to Akrotiri to the ruins, up to Oia and around the island to multiple small towns to explore and photograph. We found some "local" restaurants that were open and filled, and sampled wonderful Greek food. It was a wonderful time, and we would come again in January to avoid the crowds!

Santorini is such a wonderful island.
Santorini is such a wonderful island. And Fira is such a great place to stay given that it is centrally located between Akrotiri and Oia, and not too far from the airport. Weather was fantastic for November. We were only a few blocks from the bus station which has buses running to all parts of the island fairly frequently (helps to avoid taxis which tend to charge a bit much). The sunsets from both Fira and Oia were magical, as are the walks along the charming streets of both towns.

Santorini is no longer a relaxing vacation spot.
Santorini is no longer a relaxing vacation spot. Five cruise ships were in port and, therefore, pedestrian streets were so crowded in Fira and Oia that you could barely move. I visited in 2011, which was nice. Friends warned me not to return in 2023 because of crowding but I disregarded their advice. They were right. Santorini would be wise to strictly limit the number of cruise ships. If you go there, try to schedule your visit when there are no ships in port. The day we left there were no ships and strolling around was actually a pleasure. It's a beautiful island - but overcrowded.

Yes it is touristic therefore easy accessibility to anywhere on the island. Lots of shops and eateries, easy to walk around Fira on foot. We didn't need a car there. Walked and also took buses to Oia and the airport. Many restaurants to explore.

They upgraded our room to premium cave .
They upgraded our room to premium cave . Accommodation was very good. It was short 7 min walk from Fira bus station. Breakfast was very good severed at our room. Rooms were big and clean. would recommend for others.
This small boutique hotel with just four rooms was fantastic! It was very clean and right in the heart of it all in Fira. The price was very reasonable for Santorini. The owner is very friendly and gave us great recommendations. The room is classic Santorini, decorated in blues and whites. The shower was great, and the bed comfortable. it was just a three minute walk to the bus station and a couple of blocks from the caldera edge with fantastic views. It’s also a great starting point for the famous Fira to Oia caldera hike.
This hotel is in a phenomenal location once you arrive to Fira. Walking distance to food, bars and gift shops in town. Also, you can walk to the outer city limits and see some spectacular sunsets overlooking the caldera. I made a last minute request to the staff to extend a night and they quickly found me a room. The pool is a little small but it does the job. Again, you can't beat the location of this property. For a few days in Santorini it will not break the budget and it does the job.
The Anessis Hotel is the ideal choice for those who want to stay in Santorini!! It is a few steps away from the center of Fira (literally 5 minutes walk from the main square), with the advantage of being away from the chaos of the center and with private parking and swimming pools - perfect for those who want to relax! Dimitri and the staff were very kind, welcoming, and helpful throughout our stay. We highly recommend it!! Hugs to everyone, from Giulia&Alberto
We just booked one night at the hotel and wished we stayed longer when we got there. Staff was so nice and even gave us a free upgrade. The room was huge, it was more of a villa. Location and breakfast are both very good but the real highlight of the hotel is the property itself. Would highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting Santorini. If we had stayed here longer, I think our overall experience in the crowded island would be significantly better.
Our stay in Divino Suites was a dream. Located so close to the centre of Fira while having the same amenities as luxury hotels that we saw along the caldera at extortionate prices. The staff were so friendly and accommodating and went above and beyond for us. We loved the sunbeds and jacuzzi, the fabulous bed and bathroom - fair to say we were very sad to leave! We would highly recommend Divino Suites for a beautiful time in Santorini!
Wonderful hotel, with an spectacular view of the Caldera in Fira, Santorini. The room was perfect, clean and comfortable. Enjoyed an amazing view with a courtesy bottle of wine by the hotel. The reception staff were very friendly and helpful. The restaurant staff was great, specially Eftichia, providing outstanding service!! The breakfast was wonderful, and served fresh every day in the terrace witn an amazing view of the Caldera.
The host, Chris is a very kind and helpful person. Always with a smile on and ready to help with whatever needs we had. The rooms were spacious and clean and the hotel is located in a quiet area, Fira city center being 10-15 minutes away by foot (quite a steep path, though). Also there's a great view towards the sea and sunrise in the sea view apartments. We will surely come back here for another stay in Santorini.
The Property is a top notch in cleanliness! The location is centre of Fira which is very convenient to get around to different parts of santorini. Most important thing is how Maria takes care of all her guests. She is one of a kind. Excellent customer service we’ve ever experienced. Been so many hotels, suites, and apartments but she is the only one who show her dedication to her career. Thank you Maria! ♥️
The staff at the hotel was very friendly. My friend and I were first time in Santorini, knew nothing about it. The staff told us where and how to go around the island, gave us the local map. The room was clean and has a beautiful view, nice swimming pool. The hotel owner even drove us to fira center using her own car. We had a wonderful time staying at the hotel and the island.
Great value for your money! It’s close enough to the hustle and bustle of Fira but also a bit removed from the night life noise. Cute rooms and shared pool area. Liza and Costas were so helpful and kind! Liza got us a reservation at Salt and Pepper (best food we had in Santorini) and Costas provided us with a shuttle to the port. Great included breakfast.
Wonderful boutique hotel located in the center of Fira, with stone Santorini vibes. The host’s where wonderful, big thank you to Angelo and Nick, who are always there to answer all questions.
The hotel also offers a complementary pick up service from the airport (available until 20:00).
The Fira bus stop is only located within a 5 minute walk.
The property is beautiful and despite being only a 5 minute walk to the centre of Fira it is quiet and relaxed. The pool is lovely and, as the hotel is not very big, it is never that busy. The staff were also very friendly and helpful throughout our stay. I would definitely stay here again if I return to Santorini!
I loved this hotel. It was very central, literally 200 meters from fira center. 5 mins walk to the bus station from where you could go to oia, or anywhere else in santorini. As a solo female traveler, the street and area felt very safe both during the day and during the night.
We celebrated our anniversary in Santorini and stayed at Casa di Magi! We met in santorini 10 years ago and were excited to return again. Giota and Margarita were the best hosts! The apartment was clean, close to Fira and had everything we needed.
Amazing rooms (we had the superior suite with the in room jacuzzi) and amazing staff - Regina was particularly helpful! location is also amazing for Santorini and you can walk all around Fira and are only a short bus ride from Oia! Great venue!
a wonderfully designed apartment hotel in the heart of Firà - yet in a very quiet zone. the hosts are so helpful and provide you with all the information to create an unforgettable Santorini experience. warmly recommend!!!
Comfortable and simple room for a 1 night stay in Santorini. Located centrally in Fira and had everything we needed. Breakfast was served with a smile and although basic was still good.
My friend and I went to Santorini and were recommended to stay in Fira. We were glad we found this location. Dimitris went above and beyond to make the experience a great one for us!
Perfect location for short walks into Fira city center. A small family owned hotel with friendly staff, the complete opposite of the mass tourist side of Santorini.
The staff was sooo accommodating and were able to offer so many things to do all around Santorini! The hotel was a great price and so close to the middle of Thira.
