Skala beach is great, although it is not sandy.
Skala beach is great, although it is not sandy. There are water sports available and lots of umbrella's and beach bars to choose from. It gets deep quickly making it perfect for swimming and snorkelling.

It’s a great location.
It’s a great location. It has bars and restaurants but not big night life. Which I like. More family and friends & couples. Which makes the area even more special. No big groups of party etc. Any restaurant on the square is great. ( especially Pines and Flamingo) it’s Small enough to get around but packed with options for drinking and eating out.

Skala has the right balance of restaurants Taverners , beaches cocktail bars and a lively dancing bar suited for older people. Places for coffee. No real negatives.
Something for everyone. Bakery’s and snack bars .
Reasonable pricing around.

Lovely small town. Uncrowded when we went mid June.
Lovely small town. Uncrowded when we went mid June. All the restaurants we used were good. Big choice of places to eat.
Good walk up to Old Skala in the guides.
Maps and trips and excursions easily available. Although we couldn't go on boat trip as weather not good .
Great beaches for swimming. Less suitable for small children as slope away quickly. Shingle not sand.
We went for a wedding ceremony - a beautiful place to be.
the welcome, the facilities, the comfort, the location were all fantastic. the apartment had everything we needed, the bed was one of the comfiest I’ve slept on in Greece. the shower was always hot and powerful. we were directly in front of the beach and just a short walk away from the restaurants and bars. we used the swimming pool at the anassa hotel next door who were also very welcoming. I would definitely recommend this place to stay if you like small and friendly
Everything! Pool was fabulous with plenty of sunbeds. Beach was right across the street and very nice, with sunbeds for a small fee, 10/set I believe. Breakfast was wonderful, as well as the staff. Everyone was so very helpful. We were upgraded to an upper floor room with sea view and it was beautiful with a lovely breeze. The shower was one of the best we've seen in Greece.
The staff at Porto Skala Hotel was extremely welcoming and kind! Beautiful smiles and so helpful with anything! The morning breakfast buffet was vast and whoever was in the kitchen definitely enjoyed making deserts (even for breakfast!). The small beach in front of the hotel was breathtakingly beautiful! The pool was a perfect place for a family with kids to relax/have fun!
I have not been abroad for about 5 years and was apprehensive about being away yet Wendy was simply amazing, 1st name terms from meeting us at the door. Loved every minute. Theo and Arris on the bar (father and son) were super fab and super company! Can't praise the cleanliness and standard of hotel enough, already counting down to next visit. Thank you Melidrone xxxxx
The room was really great, and the bed and pillows were comfortable. The balcony was very nice and had a good view of the beach. The hotel has easy parking right across the street. Easy check-in, good breakfast, and a nice bar right across the street. The hotel is also close to the main street, so walking there was very easy.
Host was easily contactable and would answer any queries/questions for local trips. She was helpful in booking taxis before we arrived and also for our return to the airport. Her family restaurant offered us complementary puddings. When we getting ready to leave she gave us a little present as memorabilia of Kefalonia.
As a person who almost traveled all Kefalonia, the Skala is the best location with its infrastructure and beach. The apartment is close to the beach and in the center of the area. The apartment was so comfortable and well-equipped. It was definitely worth staying!!
David was a brilliant Host. He stocked the fridge for our arrival, was very helpful with recommendations and any questions we had. The villa was spotless and in a great location, close to Skala Main Street. Would recommend for anyone visiting Kefalonia.
That's was a brand new house. We had a perfect time in that detached property with a private pool and fantastic sea view in a quiet place of Kefalonia. For me, that is the definition of relaxing in your holidays. Next time we will stay more.
Great location - just about 100 meters to one of the best sand beaches of Kefalonia. The room was big, the bed was comfortable. Very good breakfast. There are lawn and trees around and we had a great sea view.
Everything it was a lovely hotel. The pool. The greek yoghurt at breakfast. The clean towels when you needed them. The staff. The location to the beach so close. The room.
The room was very nice and the staff were super helpful and friendly! The hotel had a great bar, great games such as a big chess board and a pool table.
