I liked that the house was spacious and beautifully designed with "antiques". The house itself was very clean and the kitchen well furnished. It's a beautiful house. I loved having access to Netflix!

The location is amazing. The view is breathtaking!The host was awesome! Despoina welcome us with gifts with local products and a homemade cake! The house is a wonderful villa very beautiful and comfortable. The private pool is excellent it's unforgettable to swim with the view of the mountains! We enjoyed so much our staying at villa Galatia and we are so impressed that we will come back with our friends at September!

Splendid house with beautiful view, very calm place. Bit chilly in the spring, luckily there is an electric heating ;). The host is exteremly nice and helpful, as well as the neighbours. Definitely to recommend.

Beautiful old Cretan villa in a stunning part of the island. Breathtaking views of the mountains at dawn and sunset, three different terraces to have drinks and food, and of course a roaring fire for those colder evenings (we were there in October). Easy access to both coasts, beautiful local walks and lots of good local birds, we were lucky enough to see three bearded vultures, along with griffon vultures, golden eagles and migrating shrikes and songbirds. Despina was always on hand via text or What’s App to answer any queries

Despina was very kind to us. We arrived late in the evening. Nevertheless she welcomed us with joy, raki, home-made lemon juice and a unique cake. You must try the cake! She answered all of our questions and showed us the near-by village. The villa is surrounded by fields and mountains. The villa itself and the view offer the best to relax and enjoy the island. Nearby you have a nice, hospitable village where you can dine, have drinks or shop from a grocery store. As the house is placed around 30 minutes by car from the northern and southern part of the island, a lot more places are easily reachable. We will definitely return for even longer holidays!

Property info

Our villa, a 140 sq.m. stone-built villa, allocated on two floors, is welcoming you! The villa’s furnished with traditional and genuine antiques, which create a sense of time-travel. Upon entering the villa, on the ground floor of the villa, the guest is welcomed by a large stone fireplace that sooths away tiredness. In the same room, there is a dining area with a large dining table (300-year-old antique) and a fully equipped kitchen. On the ground floor there is also a bedroom with a double bed and a view of the plain, which has been decorated with simplicity and gentility. For our guests’ convenience, there is an extra W/C next to the bedroom. The top floor can be accessed via a wooden staircase. There are two large bedrooms here with spacious wardrobes, and between the two you will find a spacious balcony with a breathtaking view. The one bedroom is situated on the north side of our villa, and features a double bed, a desk and a wardrobe. It is a room which exudes imagination, romanticism, and vigour. The second room on the south side is the majestic, white-clad room, which features a semi-double bed and a single bed, as well as a veranda with a remarkable view of the White Mountains. Between the two bedrooms, there is a bathroom with a large bathtub. The location of the property is an ideal place for all travelers looking for a vacation in a relaxing environment or those who want to discover the interesting landscapes of Crete, or perhaps combine all these activities.

Villa Galatia, situated at the top end of the village Goni in the Askifou plateau, has been built with natural materials consistent with the local tradition. Its ideal location can serve as the starting point for your ventures to Chora Sfakion, the picturesque Loutro, the enchanting Fragokastello, the gorge of Imvros and many more places of interest. In Askifou there are many cafes,2 gas station,2 super markets, and you will eat good traditional food with fresh products in the tavernas..
