surprisingly good time, not expensive, not overcrowded, nice nature (badnjevice canyon and all the lakes -there are many!) so much water everywhere, springs, streams, rivers, lakes. we ate at newly opened Tri sunca and it was amazing. got wine from Grabovac winery. Drowe trough all the villages of Imotsko polje. It is all very near and quite pretty. would go again and would recommend

Imotski is a little town with a nice historical center.
Imotski is a little town with a nice historical center. What really is worth a visit is the two lakes, the Blue one and the Red one. The Blue Lake is very close to the city, you can park easily and walk a path from the fortress to the road behind the lake (or viceversa). You pay a ticket, 5,50€ per adult (kids free) when we went (Aug 2023) and you can easily walk down to the lake using a really nice and easy path (also for kids and with sandals). The Red Lake is a 1,5mile from the Blue one and after leaving a car you can walk around the lake on a path which takes an 1 hour more or less. For this one you will need appropriate shoes, because you walk into the woods with stones and roots. But if you don't feel like walking even the viewpoint from the main road is stunning.

Interesting place to be visited, many interesting sights,...
Interesting place to be visited, many interesting sights, especialy the Lakes, the fortress and local monuments in the area, the STEĆKI. Many interesting sights nearby. History should be considered, to see the best of all (Roman empire and roads, stećki monuments, Ottoman monuments, local history etc.). Close to Mostar, Trebinje in Bosnia and Hercegovina and Medjugorje pilgrimage place. Very close to the Adriatic coast through the tunnel of Saint Ilija, The Riviera of Makarska, one of the best rivieras at the Adriatic.
