The Andrassy mansion is absolutely beautiful, but it is still being renovated, although it was supposed to be finished last year, so you cannot view the interior. It is still worth a trip to see it from the outside and to see the garden labyrinth from above. There is also a wonderful playground for the children on the grounds. There are some lovely thatched roof peasant houses in the area also. Tiszadob is located in a very good central place from which to take daily excursions in several directions to wine country, mineral spas, the Nyiregyhazi zoo and aquarium or Skansen, or beautiful village churches and museums. I was not impressed with the local Halasz Csarda which was comparitively expensive for what was served.

We loved our stay in this historical gem.
We loved our stay in this historical gem. Though it looks like a nineteenth century inn, it has modern plumbing and appointments. The beds were very comfortable but we would have preferred a double bed. The breakfasts were great. The scenery is rural, rustic even and the place is very tranquil.
