With a dome reminiscent of Brunelleschi’s "The Duomo" in Florence, the Hungarian parliament building is undoubtedly the icon of Budapest. It sits majestically by the Danube, the river that both divides and unifies the 2 parts of this capital city: Buda and Pest.
Overseeing Budapest from its vantage point on Castle Hill is Buda Castle. Spectacularly lit at night, it has the best views across this attractive city steeped in World Heritage. Some unique points of interest are Heroes Square and the Museum of Terror, reminders of the city’s more turbulent past.
Much like in Vienna further up the Danube, coffee and cake is practically an institution in Budapest. And there’s nowhere better to try them than Gerbeaud - the elaborate décor alone makes this café well worth a visit.
To really feel like a local, make a trip to the thermal baths. The relaxed Gellért Baths are a triumph of Art Nouveau grandeur and, based on their sheer size, you can't miss the outdoor Széchenyi Baths. If unusual nightlife is your thing, the club nights at these baths are great fun.
With an impressive range of Budapest hotels, apartments and hostels available in this city of 2 halves, Booking.com makes it an easy choice.

I was in Budapest on business but managed to take a morning off to see the city. I have visited Budapest over 18 times for work so know it pretty well. The people are always very friendly and helpful. I have been coming to the city for 19years and it is always sad when I leave.
point to note. DO NOT BOOK A TAXI THROUGHT BOOKING.COM
I landed at 22h55 and had already paid before my trip for a taxi. After 1h30 and numerous contact no one arrived so I had to get another taxi after paying up front. first time this has happened and VERY disappointed.

Budapest had everything we wanted - beautiful architecture, great restaurants, fun nightlife and friendly people.
We had lovely dinners in Twenty Six Degrees and Mazel Tov.
The Castle, The Fisherman’s bastion and the Parliament buildings were breathtaking. We did a really inexpensive cruise on the Danube at night which was amazing. It was with Purple lines and it was €19 for 2 of us. We didn’t have time to use the baths but we’ll do that on our next trip. We downloaded the Budapest Go app on our phones. We used this to purchase a 72 hour travel card to use on public transport, it was fantastic. We also used it to purchase our airport shuttle bus ticket.

Budapest is a fabulous city to visit.
Budapest is a fabulous city to visit. There is so much to do. We chose to walk each day and averaged about 10 miles per day but didn't feel like it as such an interesting city. Visited the Gellert Baths - amazing. Also Veli Bej Baths which smaller and cheaper. Both definitely worthwhile. All the major places of interest are well within walking distance. The Hungarian Shoe sculptures are emotive and a must visit. There are about 25 purely vegan restaurants in the City and our favourite was Napenyes Restaurant & Confectionery Ferenciek tere 2, Budapest - great freshly prepared food and the bakery has a vast selection of delicious cakes.

I felt very comfortable walking around for hours everyday exploring different attractions and taking stunning photos of architecture and parks. The weather was just right in the beginning of spring. The food is really delicious almost in all restaurants I tried.
Budapest is a destination where I can will easily come back to and next time I will make sure to have more space in my bag for souvenirs and memories.

It’s a nice place - one gets the feel of staying in a Buda houses. It’s like 10 mins walk from the main station in Buda city.
However if you want the feel of more lively city which is pest- you can choose the accommodation accordingly.
The host was quite helpful and can speak a bit English.

I’ve visited Budapest many times and stayed at different hotels and hostels, but Hillside apartments has been the best accommodation I stayed in Budapest so far. Everything is super clean (the bathroom, the bed linen, towels etc.), the neighbourhood is really quiet, and we also had a balcony to enjoy our morning coffee. Bus stop is nearby, you can reach the city centre in 30 min. I totally recommend this peace for the excellent quality-price ratio! The host is also very kind and considerate (thank you Balazs!)
Easy to find, just a minute away from the tram that takes you to the city centre for 25 min. There is a shopping centre within 5 min drive with a car. Next to the hotel there is a winery where you can buy Hungarian sparkling wine.
The rooms are good enough with spacious bathrooms and plenty of towels.
The rooms have a balcony with private jacuzzi that you can use. The water temperature is 40 degrees celsius.
The parking is big and free (a rare finding in Budapest).
A nice hotel in the Gozsdu Court passage in the city centre. There was a spring festival during our stay in the Gozsdu Court. One could buy different handcraft, records, handmade jewelry, magnets, etc. In the passage, there are several cafes/bars and night clubs.
Our two-floor apartment was clean and spacious. Beds were comfortable, kitchen fully equipped.
The stuff was super nice and helpful. Breakfast was excellent. We liked our weekend in Budapest.
A big hotel a bit far from the center, but that is not the problem for visiting all attraction of the wonderful city of Budapest as there is a metro station next to the hotel, as well as tram and bus stations with lines to almost all parts of the city. There is an underground parking lot of the Arena Sports Center behind the hotel. Room was fine, clean and comfortable, it was good value for money if you exclude poor wi-fi.
The Hotel is perfectly located in the city center, all the best places in the city are at 10-15 minutes walk or within 1-2 metro/tram stops.
The staff, from reception to breakfast, was absolutely amazing and very helpful with every need and request we had.
The room was exactly as described in the images, and the bed was very comfortable.
Bottom line - Great pick for the best Budapest experience :)
WOW. Everything in this place was amazing! I live a 25 minute train ride from Budapest center but missed my train… so I checked on booking to see if a hotel was cheaper than taking a taxi. And OH MY GOODNESS! I was extremely surprised by this beautifully decorated and efficient loft space! I’d love to stay again and will recommended to others because the value for price is truly unbelievable.
best option to go to Budapest, value for money and in the middle of the city centre of Budapest, very convenient if you are coming from the airport, the apartment was big, very clean and modern.
the reception stuff were very nice and very polite with languages knowledge, definitely the best option for staying in the centre.
I would totally recommend to everyone (:
We did enjoy our stay very much at Ambra hotel. The location is excellent, just a few minutes from the city centre. The room was clean, comfortable and with everything we needed. Breakfast was buffet style, with plenty of savoury and sweet choices. The food was always lovely and freshly cooked. This hotel is ideal for somebody visiting Budapest for a few days.
If you travel by train, this is the best location ! If you travel by public transportation, this is very good location ! We like this hotel as it offer apartment with full kitchen. Also it is very good value ! Have breakfast included and luggage storage is a plus.
All in all if we come Budapest next time, we will stay here again.
The hotel is located on Andrassy Avenue, in the center of Budapest and from there you can walk to its main attractions, it is clean and comfy so I reccomend it for spending some days there. The staff was very nice and welcoming, opened to help us with everything we needed.Thank you for everything.
The best thing about the hotel was the location. It was almost close to the center of Budapest, not to brag about this. The room was warm and Wi-Fi was everywhere even for the strength that was medium. Breakfast was great and we had the chance to choose between a variety of things to eat.
Beautiful hotel, great location in the city centre. Rooms were very stylish and modern, we had amazing view on the City Market Hall and the stay was overall very nice. Would definitely go there again in case I travel to Budapest and I recommend the accommodation to everyone.
Perfect apartment for few days accommodation!
Barbara's very helpful and she can find you best route for some attractions in Budapest! Check-in instructions was very good.
Good location for trips to the city centre. Bus stop is located 10 meters from apartment
Best breakfast I've had in a city centre hotel, with stunning views over Budapest from the breakfast dining area. Room was very clean and spacious and had everything we needed. Location ideal for exploring Buda and Pest.
Location is great in the center of Budapest near the Basilica and convenient to Vaci Street shopping or the chainlink bridge for seeing Buda Hill. Modern hotel with great rooms and friendly helpful staff
Clean rooms, very nice staff, perfect location in center of Budapest. Parking was very close, 10.000 ft per day, 150 m from hotel.
Breakfast was very good.
