With a dome reminiscent of Brunelleschi’s "The Duomo" in Florence, the Hungarian parliament building is undoubtedly the icon of Budapest. It sits majestically by the Danube, the river that both divides and unifies the 2 parts of this capital city: Buda and Pest.
Overseeing Budapest from its vantage point on Castle Hill is Buda Castle. Spectacularly lit at night, it has the best views across this attractive city steeped in World Heritage. Some unique points of interest are Heroes Square and the Museum of Terror, reminders of the city’s more turbulent past.
Much like in Vienna further up the Danube, coffee and cake is practically an institution in Budapest. And there’s nowhere better to try them than Gerbeaud - the elaborate décor alone makes this café well worth a visit.
To really feel like a local, make a trip to the thermal baths. The relaxed Gellért Baths are a triumph of Art Nouveau grandeur and, based on their sheer size, you can't miss the outdoor Széchenyi Baths. If unusual nightlife is your thing, the club nights at these baths are great fun.

Picturesque good value city with excellent public transport.
Accommodation easy to find and good value, but of mixed quality.
Transfer from airport cheap and easy using airport bus. No need for a taxi.
Worth travelling further afield to places such as Lake Balaton.
Must be one of the best value capital cities for food, drink and accommodation. Many great buildings and sights. Well worth visiting for a short city break or for longer.

Budapest is OK, well worth a visit, decent food, easily walkable - our stress came from the unreliable software, information, guidance by the company that owns and manages the flat - we spent more time worrying about things, even when they did something it was at the very last moment, after repeated requests, so very distressing, inflexible, unfriendly and inconvenient.

Budapest stands out immediately as the capitol center of an empire. The Buildings surpass in magnitude, taste and detail what I've seen in the capitols to the west. With common sense, you can pick an amazing restaurant in the down town area. Both the public taxis and uber are fine... Of course, as with anywhere, it is a good to look at a map and follow where you are and are going. If you can climb stares and walk up hill a bit, standing in line for the quaint and well know little tram in Pest is a waste of time.
Our overall experience was great. Hotel's location was marvellous. Just in the city centre and extremely close to some of the best touristic places (5 minutes walk from St. Stephen's Basilica, Shopping Centers and the river). Their stuff was extremely nice and polite, always willing to help and answer any enquiries. The apartments were great. Spacious, extremely clean, good WiFi, compromised with fully functional kitchen and large dinning area. Our kids really loved the living area where they spent a lot of time playing around.
The location was probably the best part: it's right in the center of Budapest, close to the best rated restaurants on TripAdvisor, the Danube, and other beautiful tourist attractions. A private parking is just 2 minutes away, which is very important, since parking spots are a bummer to find in that city.
The owner was really nice, the information provided was useful and the apartment was clean. A reasonable price and the perfect conditions for a quick stop.
This hotel is perfect!
It is located right on the river side of the Danubio, close to bus stops that will take you to the city centre in 20 mins.
The continental breakfast offers plenty of choices and the food is really fresh.
The staff is always kind and ready to help.
The spa is included in the room price, there are 3 pools and a sauna. The thermal pool at 38° is the best place to relax after a long day in the city.
We will come back for sure!
I travelled with my bestie to Budapest and stayed 3 nights here. The apartment was spotless and Saza was a great host who gave us a wine gift upon our arrival. We arrived in budapest around 7am and got the room earlier before the check in time without any additional charges. The location was perfect as it is walking distance to the main tourist spots and city centre. You will never go wrong with this nice homey place. Thank you so much!
Great location, ideally situated in Budapest. Great price and very close to the Elizabeth Square, Dohány Street Synagogue, Hungarian State Opera, and St Stephen's Basilica. Lots of restaurants, metro stations, and bus and tram stops servicing the city centre are only a few minutes walk from the hotel. The staff were friendly and so helpful. Our room was neat and tidy. We had such a comfortable stay in this hotel.
The Hotel is perfectly located in the city center, all the best places in the city are at 10-15 minutes walk or within 1-2 metro/tram stops.
The staff, from reception to breakfast, was absolutely amazing and very helpful with every need and request we had.
The room was exactly as described in the images, and the bed was very comfortable.
Bottom line - Great pick for the best Budapest experience :)
We had a wonderful stay at Hotel Stories in Budapest.
The staff is very nice, friendly and helpful, the apartments are spacious, beautifully decorated, warm and comfortable.
Incredibly beautiful garden, restaurant in the atrium, location in the very center of Budapest...
All these together makes this hotel the best choice for accommodation when visiting the beautiful capital of Hungary.
WOW. Everything in this place was amazing! I live a 25 minute train ride from Budapest center but missed my train… so I checked on booking to see if a hotel was cheaper than taking a taxi. And OH MY GOODNESS! I was extremely surprised by this beautifully decorated and efficient loft space! I’d love to stay again and will recommended to others because the value for price is truly unbelievable.
The location was perfect. Hotel/apartment was perfect and funky, just the way we like it! We walked to everything (great restaurants, all the “touristy” locations and took the bus to the mineral springs). Budapest was fantastic and Budapest Museum Central was the best place we could have asked for. If you don’t want a typical tourist hotel, this is the perfect place!
I had a good time here in Budapest and the Silver Hotel was a part of it. The rooms and the beds are comfortable and clean, the breakfast is decent and the whole price is convenient. It is located in the city centre and there's a nice view from the room. Everything is close to it and the employees provide any service that you need. I can recommend this hotel.
The staff spoke excellent English, were courteous and very helpful.
The hotel was in an ideal location for visiting the Danube river area, as well as the city centre.
Our room was excellent, spotlessly clean and comfortable with everything we needed for our visit. I highly recommend this hotel and the city of Budapest.
Location not to far from city centre. Breakfast varied and very good, desserts and drinks (juice, coffee, tea). Gabor receptionist very friendly and helpful. Towels changed every day and toilet paper replaced. The room it was nice and warm. If I will go again in Budapest I will choose Atlantic Hotel.
Everything was awesome!
I was second time here this year. The location is the best possible with a lot of posibilities to visit all important places in Budapest.
I highly recommend thia hotel if you are a tourist that want to ejnoy at maximum your stay in Budapest.
Great Hotel. I am a big Hilton fan and wherever I go, I live in Hilton if possible. I was in both Hilton in Prague, and in 3 different Hilton in Vienna, and today in Hilton of Budapest, and this is the best managed Hilton above all of them. Highly recommended!
I like this hotel very much and this was not my first stay there. It is in city centre, with good breakfast, clean but basically furnished. Enough for feeling comfortable for short stay. Also well located for exploring Budapest.
Very nice clean hotel....very kind people work there no problem for english speaking guests.parking is also very good and cheap parking compare to city centre hotels...... metro station Puskas Ferenc stadion is next to hotel.
Beautiful hotel, in the center of the city, cozy rooms, excellent staff and great breakfast. It is the third time I'm staying in the hotel and definitely will come back again next time I'm in Budapest.
It’s a nice property. It’s not the best. Budapest became very expensive in one years time. This hotel was a bit expensive but the best to be found for the price.
Clean rooms, very nice staff, perfect location in center of Budapest. Parking was very close, 10.000 ft per day, 150 m from hotel.
Breakfast was very good.
