We ended up staying 4 nights. Brilliant staff who helped with absolutely everything we needed and more. Amazing location, quietly tucked away on the best reef of the island with a simply ridiculous amount of turtles. 24/7 electricity. Great food, (catered for our vegan diets) and a fantastic sunset location as well! I wish I could have stayed there for the rest of the year.

The host family is amazing. They know everything about the island and the Berau regency. Their English is very good (in case you are a foreign traveler), but their cooking is even better. Their portions are big and will help you with any sort of planning problems or accommodation problems. They can help organize boat trips from and to other islands and show you around their island. At the property is a really nice beach, coral reef in front that even dive boats come to dive at, in land lake, in land cave and very comfortable rooms. They accept credit cards for purchases which may make it easy if you are a foreign traveler without a local atm card.

Maratua Guesthouse is the only guesthouse on the island of Maratua. We are located in the beautiful jungle, right on the beach. Our chalets are eco-concept chalets that have been described as cute and comfortable by our guests. We have a wonderful restaurant with astounding sunset views. Turtles come and eat the grass in front of the restaurant every morning. The diving and snorkeling in this area is fantastic and we can help you arrange trips anywhere in the vicinity.
