Bali’s oldest beach resort retains its reputation as a glamorous alternative to nearby Kuta. The coastline of Sanur has a long stretch of white sand lined with restaurants and bars. It is tailor made for chic clientele or families wanting to relax in an exclusive resort or villa without the need to party into the wee hours.
Sanur is also a popular day trip destination for tourists staying in Kuta looking to do some water sports. There are many companies offering diving along its submerged outer reef, jet skiing on top of its blue waters or paragliding in the cool breezes above this ocean paradise.
The shoreline features a cycle path that is also perfect for walking and jogging. At its very northern tip is the ferry terminal that offers boat trips to Nusa Lembongan, a small island off the southeast coast of Bali that is famous for its laid-back atmosphere.
Sanur has its fair share of markets providing an impressive range of artistic handicrafts such as wood carvings and batik paintings. Best of these are the Sindhu Market and the daytime beachfront market.
Sanur is the closest beach to the island’s capital, Denpasar, with its many temples and museums. Booking.com has a range of hotels along Sanur Beach or close to Ngurah International Airport, also known as Denpasar International Airport.

It has been 10 years since we were in Sanur and it was wonderful to be back. A relaxed place with a vast range of restaurants, shopping for everyone at every price range. An excellent spot for families, couples and singles on holiday. As a person with mobility issues I didn't have to go far to get everything I needed.

I really enjoyed my stay in Sanur.
I really enjoyed my stay in Sanur. I ended up a Besakih Beach Hotel. It was great! Typical old style Balinese, clean, comfortable, great staff and not over the top expensive for a beachfront hotel. The beachfront walkway is awesome. Lots of cafes/eateries, shops along the way. Not overcrowded. I had one of the best facial & foot massages ever at a basic little spa shop (aircon) on the walkway called Dd Reflexology Bali. I also enjoyed an evening meal at Oliver's Place (very professional service) and lunch at Lilla Warung (no aircon but great food). Spoilt for choice really. And the best money changer is PT. Dirgahayu Valuta Prima Money Changer with the lime green sign.

Very friendly people.
Very friendly people. Great cafes and food.. the 6.5 km beach path is excellent. The beach water quality is poor. I loved riding a bicycle everywhere, but there is too much traffic generally. Food quality is very good and varied. Supermarket prices are expensive.

We stayed in Bali for 2 months, my 3rd trip and the last one. sadly. The place is too crowded now, the charm is gone, you get charged at every step for everything. Soon Bali will start charging you for the air you breathe.

Sanur is a great place to stay.
Sanur is a great place to stay. This trip the area was quiet with great views. The traffic in this area is good so you are able to cross the street and walk around in comfort. The food is amazing on the Main Street and beach frount.
I recently stayed at the RedDoorz Plus at Sunrise Hotel Sanur, and I must say that I was quite impressed with the overall experience. One of the things I particularly liked was the prompt refill of complimentary drinks that were offered. The hotel staff was attentive and ensured that we never ran out of water or coffee. Another aspect that stood out to me was the exceptional housekeeping service. They did an excellent job of making the bed and keeping the room tidy.
Cozy hotel, charming garden and retaurant. Room was nice, good air con, offered water in a glas recipient in the room, which is great and avoid the use of so many plastic water bottles. Staff super friendly and professional. The hotel offeres free bike. Hotel near the main street in Sanur with many beautiful shops. Sanur is a very lovely and relaxed neighbourhood, less crowded then other spots in Bali we went to. Not near to surf in the dry season, however.
The staff were lovely and friendly and our room very comfortable. Comfortable bed and aircon worked well. The location was great and beachfront, close to lots of cafes, market and stores. We enjoyed Sanur, its a quieter area to just relax, and we extended our stay here.
An older hotel but well maintained and the gardens are very well maintained and pretty. Great value for money, we will stay again.
a lovely older hotel ..charming and comfortable and most definately affordable..I’ve stayed several times here and if you want something quiet and your running to budget then this is fine as a base to explore the rest of Bali..I really like Sanur and you are near enough to some high end hotels that are also fun to stay at for a night or two ..but the Seaview is old and established which suits me..!
The rooms are extremely comfortable (the beds! 😁) and the furniture is tropical elegant. The hotel has a display of stunning old Balinese photos and objets d'art. During our stay they also opened up their courtyard once a week to a night market, giving local vendors an opportunity to sell their products. The staff are friendly and responsive. Definitely my new favourite hotel in Sanur.
Spacious, tranquil, and beautiful. My mother and I spent 6 nights in the 2 bedroom villa. It was wonderful. Buffet breakfast and daily room cleans.
The pools are lovely and a great place to relax. Food and drink at the restaurant is quick and tasty.
A quick taxi into central Sanur or get the free shuttle from the hotel.
The staff are super helpful and really lovely.
The place was a surprise! We did think for the price it wouldn't have been so beautiful but its a little heaven in the middle of a busy sanur.
We loved our stay even if it was just for one night and we wished we had more time in bali to stay again.
We are dog lovers and the hotel actually has the sweetest blind dog, hence the name ♥️ thankyou for a lovely stay!
The staff are good and welcoming and attend to special requests. We knew it would not be a first choice hotel but still we chose it due to it being very close to Sanur Port and we could walk to the port in 7/8 mins for our boat very early in the next morning.
A beachfront Villa that is small compared to big resorts just how we like it.
Balinese style rooms with character.
Beautiful gardens with beachfront dining.
Step out of the resort and there are endless food choices, the hotel is in a great location.
Just lovely! It's a cosy, small hotel, very friendly staff. Nice rooms. I will choose this hotel again if I come back to Sanur. They also accepted to keep our luggage while we went to Nusa Penida for a few days. Thank you for doing that!
The space in the villa was great. The swimming pool was great, but then there were multiple places to sit with a couch, dining table, coffee table. All very comfortable. Then the location was very close walking distance to sanur.
A great place for a family to stay in Sanur. The hotel is a good size, 12 rooms and 7 villas with a central pool and bar area.
staff were all very friendly and helpful. We had a wonderful stay with our children and grandchildren
The hotel was a short walk from both the beach and the Main Street of Sanur. This made the location excellent. It is a nice small hotel in true Bali style. Staff were friendly and helpful. Pool and gardens well kept
Great location and lovely staff. We enjoyed the beach bar and the pool. The spa was really good too. The hotel is close to local shops and restaurants in Sanur and right on the beach.
Great location in the center of Sanur.
Staff greeting was warm and friendly. Hotel had big rooms and the pool looked lovely but didn't get to try it as we had to fly in the morning.
Very good. It was the only hotel for around $100 with non-parfum bed linen. As allergic, it's a big problem for me. All hotels cheaper than $100 have smelling bed linen in Sanur.
friendly and helpful staff, generously sized rooms, great location in walking distance to many stores and restaurants in Sanur. nice breakfast prepared in.the villa.
Located on the beach at Sanur. It’s an older hotel but it was clean, the staff were friendly and helpful, and the food was really tasty. The location was very handy.
