The Monkey Forest is a popular tourist drawcard with its ravenous monkey population lunging at anything resembling food. The 9th-century Goa Gajah, or Elephant Cave, showcases the island’s historic past and there is the regular Ubud Market for modern-day souvenir hunters.

There is so much to do in and around Ubud. I wouldn’t plan on driving but hire a driver. It’s about the same as renting a car and with a good driver he’ll help in many ways, where to go, eat and exchange money.
Plus, I can’t imagine dealing with the traffic, which is crazy.
It seems everyone in Bali uses WhatsApp and I’d recommend downloading it if you don’t already have it.

Ubud is still a wonderful cultural experience and easy to walk to see rice paddies and the local life
Locals are friendly and always willing to assist
Great Warungs to eat local Indonesian food
Local bands offering nightly music
We visited a different monkey temple which was fantastic and better than the one closer in town. Great bike riding to see the rice paddies and local villages.
We've just returned from 2 weeks in Bali and our stay at Ubud Valley was the highlight of our trip. The villa was beautiful, spacious, comfortable and clean. The staff were extremely friendly and accommodating. The food was the best of any of our hotels- they even had gluten free bread and pancakes and made delicious gluten free afternoon tea. The view from our private infinity pool was a secluded valley where the only thing we could hear was the waterfall below. I have already recommended this hotel to everyone who asks about our trip.
Beautiful and lush! all the tropical plants and surroundings just take your breath away! we stayed at 5 hotels on our Bali trip and this is by far my favorite!
Rooms and beds are clean and comfortable!
The private pool villas are a must! We booked our 2 hrs massages/body scrubs the night before and also early the next morning!
The massage therapists are wonderful! The staff is super attentive!
Make sure to bring your mosquito repellents! Don’t forget to get your malaria shots/pills before coming to Bali!
We stayed at Villa Mirah Ubud (two bedroom villa with private pool) as a family of 4. Our kids loved the pool. We have a baby and first step in pool was wide. It was great for him to stand on water and play. Mostly pool was on shadow. That was also great point.
We loved the breakfast. Lots of options and so tasty and quality food. We also ordered lunch and dinner to our villa. It was great taste.
They offer laundry service for 15k/kg.
The rooms were so big. They provided also baby cot.
Everything. From the cleanliness to the hospitality. IT WAS GREATT! We stayed there during the “Silent Day” and we did not get bored or annoyed.
1. The staff was super kind and helpful
2. We got the massage there - which was the best
3. We booked 2 more hotels in Ubud after Purana for a different experience, but none of them were even close to the service and cleanliness in Purana.
4. The location was super central near the market as well as the spas and restaurants.
Everything is impressive from the moment of Check-in till the moment of check out
Villa space is excellent
The private pool is clean
Internet speed is reasonably above Good
A lot of programs with the hotel which attract full family , specially the painting ( managed by Mr. Budi )
The Resturant is so good and the Quality of food is brilliant
Completely away from Ubud busy and Noisy Roads
Staff is perfectly trained and Friendly and talk English Smoothly
The hotel provides us with free transport to Ubud town whenever needed; they accommodate us with breakfast in our own villa, even a floating breakfast in our private pool when we wish to have it in that way.
We love the villa design, which has a private pool and a semi-open bathroom. The bedroom is spacious and comfortable. The hotel provides us with an additional single bed for our daughter without extra charge.
We booked the 2-bed villa with private pool, which was away from the main hotel and very private. For the price, it was perfect. It was secluded and huge and had the private pool and garden. Staff were available on WhatsApp and incredibly attentive when needed - see below. Loved the massive terrace upstairs, as well as sitting area below. Water dispenser was a grateful inclusion, as was the kettle.
Everything !
Super service & perfect stay for couples vacation. We stayed in the villa with private pool. They made everything possible - floating breakfast on our private pool, laundry pick up, clean and back delivery etc.
Really clean hotel, friendly staff, stunning view, good food, and best: you can use Netflix with their account for free !
Amora is a peaceful and inspiring boutique hotel nestled in the heart of the jungle, highly recommended. The entire team of staff goes above and beyond. So friendly, always smiling & up for a chat.
Excellent villas with private pool. Great food and don’t forget to order a floating breakfast & flower bath in your room.
This was my second stay at Ubud Paradise Villas. It is a beautiful property with private pool and lovely hosts. The breakfasts are delicious and rooms are kept perfectly clean. The hosts are very helpful to arrange drivers for day tours and checked in frequently to make sure everything was going well with our visit.
The receptionist was extremely helpful and efficient by booking us scooters and arranging us a last minute fast boat to Lombok. The quietest hotel we’ve been to with only a few villas and lots of privacy. Really beautiful and had a big private pool. Small but sufficient breakfast is served in the room.
Beautiful location and villa with private pool. 15 munites from Ubud Center. Staff were super friendly and helpful. Dinner had good options. We enjoyed the massage in the garden so much that we booked them every single night. The 2 masseuses Mari and Kade did a great job, best massage I ever had!
Very comfy mattress, cute family run villa, beautiful gardens with a koi fish pond and birds. Looks exactly like the photos. Extreme value for the money, very central to markets, main shopping street. Similar modern look to 5 star hotels I have stayed in Bali. The family is lovely.
The setting is unreal. Soooo beautiful so serene. Cute houses, rice fields and jungle around. Roof is nice and authentically stylish.
I mean it’s not luxurious but for the price it’s one of the best deals in Ubud and much better than other hotels of that price category
This hotel is perfectly located in Ubud. It is very near from the Monkey Forest so the surroundings of the jolted is super calm and relaxing.
The SPA offers are great deals where you can get a relaxing balinese massage at a very affordable price !
The staff were the most attentive and polite I have ever encountered in a hotel - 5 stars! Good breakfast in a lovely setting. Located slightly outside of Ubud, which for us was a bonus as it was very quiet and peaceful.
Found Hidden gems in the Ubud area! Cheapest prize compared with other hotels/villas in the area.
I got huge & romantic suites, beautiful pool, nature with fresh air & lovely staff. What a perfect stay.
I booked this stay last minute after not liking my previous hotel. Arya is an amazing hotel! i loved everything about it and look forward to staying again. This is one of the best hotels in Ubud!
Huge jungle view , best hotel food in Ubud in extremely cheap price, super friendly staff, the biggest rooms and private pool, peaceful, lots of privacy in my villa
