Our usual day jobs are in education and training which is directly related to the Global Oil and Gas and Renewable energy sectors. We love our work but as we trained as hotel managers in the 90's we still have a passion and love for service and hospitality. Khris always wanted his own Boutique Hotel but fate/luck stopped him from building it in 2008, just before the recession. Jason's favourite pastime is spending time with his two sons, usually keeping up on Skype and Facebook with his two sons, Paris and Harrison who are 10 and 12 years old and live in Northern Queensland, Australia with their Mum Jackie. We try and bring the boys to Ireland at least once a year. (So they don't forget what snow and cold feel like obviously ) Khris's favourite pastime/hobbie is spending time in wine and spirit shops looking at things in old dusty bottles he usually cant afford. He also loves to study Wine and Spirits with his Whiskey/Whisky tastings very popular amongst friends and colleagues. There is usually a bottle something ready to be drunk in the wine cave so why not join us for a glass. The blind tastings can be great fun in a small group. Jason and Khris have previously wo
Luxury boutique bed and breakfast. An architecturally stunning home which is modern, bright, comfortable and a bit quirky. Very Centrally located, luxuriously appointed guest rooms and ensuites. No50 Boutique Bed and Breakfast with its professional hosts is a perfect place to stay or to tour the northwest from. The property is a little unique as we took a tired, dated, unattractive 70 year old ex-local authority property that was unloved, had little to offer to a young modern couple; it needed a lot of work so we decided to engage an award winning architect to help us achieve our dream of taking something old, unloved, unused with what appeared to be limited scope for development and turned it into a lovely modern home for ourselves and now with the opportunity for others to enjoy also. We have 2 double ensuite rooms available for Bed and Breakfast. The views from the windows and top balcony are simply stunning and we love asking guests to test their vertigo by standing on our glass floor. The proximity to Letterkenny town centre should also be given a mention as all amenities are within a short (2-10 minute) walk. Plenty free secure off street car parking.
Our neighbourhood was originally built in the early 1940's by the local council / town authority. My mother who lives next door has lived on this street all her life. It is one of those neighbourhoods where people set down roots. It was a great place to grow up and is very safe It is affectionately known as The Burma, as parts of it were built during various campaigns in WWII. Children growing up in the area become known as Burma Appaches. The area is very mature, located just 2-5 minutes from the Main Street so no need for expensive taxis at the end of your night out. For those wishing to explore local heritage and history, Ard O Donnell is within walking distance from the County museum, Civic centre, An Grianan Theatre, Trinity Hall, St Eunan's Cathedral and the magnificent castellated St. Eunan's college, former Seminary and now a busy secondary school for boys. Further afield, Glenveagh national park, the Glebe gallery, Ards forest park, An Griannan Fort and lots and lots of gorgeous Blue Flag beaches are a short drive away. Getting Around Letterkenny is serviced by national bus routes in addition to many private operators. John Mc Ginley & Bus Feda to name a few.
