Caroline was an amazing host, and her gorgeous cottage had everything we needed and was spotlessly clean and tidy. An added bonus were the 5 chickens on the property that we tended to during our stay. Would recommend this cottage 100%.

We are delighted to offer you this free standing self catering farm cottage to relax and to enjoy the countryside in peace and harmony, but still only 5 min walk to Clifden town. Our biggest passion is hosting our guest and creating an atmosphere of an enjoyable stay and aiming for you to have a wonderful holiday, with lots of great memories. Hygiene and cleanliness is very important to us and is of high standards throughout the cottage. This cottage is passionatly designed to have a soul and we hope that our guest experience this cottage as a homely, warm, inviting and comfortable place to stay, a home away from home. The bright spacious kitchen is the entrance of your holiday home fully equipped with all modern amenities for cooking a meal and making a cup tea. When you stay 5 days or longer you will find a Irish breakfast in the fridge, all local products. The hills behind your cottage are ideal for hill walks where you sometimes can see wild deer grassing the hills. There are a number of scenic walks that you can start from your cottage. If you would like to see our sheepdog Bashy working with the sheep we can provide a short demonstration.
Hello my name is Caroline and I am from The Netherlands. A number of years ago I decided to come to Ireland on my own on a cycling holiday. I had read a number of travelling books about Ireland especially the West of Ireland. One of the books claimed that Maam Valley is one of the loneliest places in Europe and I felt I had to go there. It was an amazing experience coming from the Netherlands when I found myself surrounded by these giant mountains, while cycling on the small winding road passing sheep and the cows grazing on the roadside. I sat there on my own for hours on a rock by the roadside absorbing this magnificent nature and I just didn’t want to leave. A number of years later I decided to go back to Ireland for another cycling trip. I met Marty an Irish man who owns a sheep farm just outside Clifden town. We became friends and some years later I decided to pack my bags leave The Netherlands and move to the West of Ireland. Art and interior design are two of my passions and Connemara is the ideal place for inspiration. I feel so lucky to live in Connemara surrounded by lovely people and stunning and breathtaking landscapes and nature. I now feel Connemara is my new home
Wildflower cottage is a perfect location where only a few steps from your door there are breathtaking views of the twelve bens mountains. Wildflower cottage is situated on a small family sheep farm on a very quit byroad with only two more houses and just a 5 min. walk to Clifden picturesque town with its quirky shops, restaurants and pubs offering life music and the town square to relax in the sun. From your dining room window you can see the fields and mountains where sheep are grazing and sometimes you can see wild dear or goats. Hiking and Nature walks are at your doorstep, the Atlantic ocean is a few minutes’ drive, a greenway walk is only 5 min drive away. The Clifden area has a lot of sides of historical interested, Clifden castle, also the site of the Marconi station from where the very first radio message was send across the Atlantic ocean and nearby the landing side of the first trans Atlantic airplane flight. Towns like Ballyconneely 12 min drive with its golf course, Gleggan 12 min drive where horse riding is available, Roundstone a lovely fishing town 23 min drive, Omey island 22 min drive. On all these roads you chance to see Connemara pony's in the fields!!.
