A lakeside self-catering glamping lodge with luxurious Skydome Yurt and Shepherd's Hut accommodation offering a digital detox on the Wild Atlantic Way in Donegal, Ireland. Set on 90 acres with lake-frontage, wildflower meadows and heather hills with sweeping views of Donegal Bay. Each of the 20ft yurts are luxuriously furnished with superking beds, wood-burning stoves and private decking offering lake, forest and mountain views. The Shepherd's Hut with its kingsize bed, wood-burner and stunning lake view is the ultimate romantic escape. All accommodation has en suite toilets. Facilities are within a uniquely designed communal Eco Building made with strawbales and a grass roof - this provides a large self-catering kitchen, dining area, wet room showers, toilets and lounge space with panoramic views of the beautiful natural landscape which surrounds it as well as a big fireplace to cosy around in the colder months. On site activites include sauna, hill-walking, hiking, fishing and wild swimming. A nature-lover's paradise, the perfect getaway from the stresses of the modern world and a great base from which to explore the North West of Ireland with two of Donegal's most beautiful beachs, Rossnowlagh and Murvagh, on our doorstep. Off-site activites can be arranged including SUP (lake or sea), horse-riding, surf lessons. Lough Mardal Lodge was built from the ground up with Sustainability at its heart. The accommodation units are all off-grid with rechargeable lanterns and en suites with compost toilets. There is a no single-plastic policy in place and plastic bottles of water are discouraged, we provide glass bottles for our pure well water. Lough Mardal Lodge is primely positioned on the Wild Atlantic Way, at the Southern gateway into Donegal. Donegal was voted the 'Coolest place in the plantet' by National Geographic in 2017. Accessibly remote we are just 20 minutes from Donegal Town, Rossnowlagh & Murvagh Beaches are within a 10 minute drive and some of the North West best surf spots are just 20 minutes away. The perfect base from which to explore the North West of Ireland.
