Gully Ghar is a short walk to the Assi Ghat. The included breakfasts on the rooftop terrace were very good and plentiful. The room was a good size with a comfortable bed. The shower had plenty of hot water. I was able to get laundry done same day for a reasonable price. The murals on the walls of the property are incredible. I was able to store my luggage and hang out on the terrace until it was time to leave for my flight.

Like most of the properties in Varanasi, this place is small but a hidden gem. It's a nice, cozy and beautifully decorated place. The rooms are small but the stay will be pleasure. The front desk owner Saurabh and the workers are very helpful and they make you feel comfortable. Walkable distance to the assi ghats. Breakfast was included in our plan and not much options but whatever they made was good. Overall a must stay place.

An incredibly friendly and welcoming guest house. The guys who run it are so lovely and helpful and made the experience of being there so positive. The room and bathrooms were always clean and tidy and the bed was so comfortable. It’s a really quiet as well! It’s also a really sociable place for when you want it and has a beautiful rooftop to hang out on.

Gullyghar Guesthouse is a family-run business by Saurabh, his wife, and his parents. They all are lovely and helped us in many ways. They made everything to make us comfortable. The rooms are simple but cosy with open shelves to put your stuffs on (which makes a difference comparing to other hostels). You need to remove your shoes when entering the building so the floor is clean everywhere. We especially liked the rooftop where they surve lovely homemade fresh breakfast everyday. We spent many mornings, afternoons and evenings there, chilling and reading away from the streets' noise. I recommend this place very much if you want to have simple place and want to be away from the fancy hotels and looking for the family entertainment.

The owner goes out of his way to help guests with their stay. He even made me tea when my stomach was upset. The location is inside a section of alleys so there is very little street noise heard. Good location to catch the sunrise aarti. Overall definitely a hidden gem with a lovely human being as an owner. I'll recommend this place to anyone visiting Varanasi in the future.

Location was the best part. We could move every where comfortable. The hosts were good and help in terms of accommodating early checkin and also guiding us about the city what to see and when to see. They are very helpful. All the staff were very nice even and the owner I very kind aways ready to slove and has always smile on his face. Must visit place and try. It's basic not luxury place.

Everything at Gully Ghar was wonderful. Comfortable bed, clean and well-appointed room, and the staff was the best. Graciously handled my late night check in due to a train delay, arranged transportation for me, and even booked river cruise tickets for me when the website would not accept foreign cards. Great location, short walking distance to Assi Ghat and the fire ceremonies. Could not be happier and would definitely stay again.
