Likir village about 52kms from Leh is a quaint and a beautiful neighborhood. Slight detour from the Leh Srinagar highway, the village offers a great retreat from the crowded city of Leh. About 50kms west from Leh, village Likir was once a major trade route connecting Tingmosgang, Hemis and Likir to Leh. The reminiscence of ancient trade still runs within the families of the village. One such family of Rigzen still follows the age old tradition of making pottery in the Ladakh valley. He often travels to various exhibitions to showcase his talent to larger part of the world.
