Wonderful location, facing the mountains. Our room had a great view though it was misty and cloudy most of the time. Fairly large room with a sitting area and plenty of windows to enjoy the view. The restaurant was great, plenty of tasty items during breakfast and dinner menu was good.

The location was absolutely good. Everything was accessible quite easily. Hotel had lift hence the room are pretty accessible. Staff from reception, room service, restaurant till housekeeping, everyone were very courteous and showed me the way towards room and took care of smallest of my necessities. The hotel being part of the mall had underground parking for pick up and drop off which was great. The special part was the view of mountain range that I had from my room while I sip the Darjeeling tea and watch the day go by for which I booked the hotel.

Going to see the sunrise at Tiger Hill and Everest peaks...
Going to see the sunrise at Tiger Hill and Everest peaks were a bit disappointing as there was a fair bit of pollution and cloud, so not clear to see. Very cold as well, waiting for sunrise, but plenty of vendors selling hot drinks.
Sherpa Tensing Norgay’s house is a must see( although I didn’t as I became ill), as is ‘toy’ train, which is a narrow train that chugs up and down through nearby towns.
There is a huge Body Shop as well.
Tea plantations are interesting but not open all the time.
Clothing is fairly cheap, especially puffer jackets.

City of Darjeeling has as such nothing to visit..
City of Darjeeling has as such nothing to visit.. Entire town streets full of warm clothe shops and nothing else.. however, nearby places are good as usual.. this is my 5th time to the place and not new.. people with 3-4 days time can explore various places, talk to nature, enjoy the cool bridge..

When I first arrived in Darjeeling, I noticed it was crowded and a bit polluted. But, overlooking that, the city offered an amazing view of the Himalayan ranges. The downtown area felt like any other hill station, with cozy cafes, restaurants, and souvenir shops. Despite the hustle and bustle, the real charm of Darjeeling became clear – it's a place where the beauty of nature shines through, making it special despite the city buzz.

Walk around to explore the streets and take in the views.
Walk around to explore the streets and take in the views. The Himalayan Tibetan Museum is worth a visit - small but so interesting. Happy Valley Tea was interesting although it is not operational in December/Jan. Walk up Tiger Hill for the views well worth it - rather than driving. The Zoo was worth it as was the Toy Train. People were friendly, not pushy and helpful. All kinds of food to try. Try Chula for momos!
Vacation became extra special because I had chosen this amazing place to stay in. GOLDEN ORCHID has everything that a family trip needs. Extremely comfortable beds with a pretty sitting area from where sunrise can be enjoyed. This place is also very near to the mall, just a walking distance while one can enjoy the cozy darjeeling. There's a lot of nearby food joints where a variety of food is available. Do not think twice if your you are lucky enough to get a booking here. Have a nice stay!!
-Staff was very polite. Quick to action all our requests
- Breakfast was the best part of my stay. If you are looking for good food in Darjeeling, then this hotel is best place for you.
-The reception upgraded my room type to a better one without increasing the pricing of the room. This hotel truly cares about their guests and is a lovely place to enjoy your trip.
- If I ever come back to Darjeeling, will stay in the same hotel without considering any other hotel on booking.com.
Hidden Monkey Stays in Darjeeling is like finding a hidden gem in the mountains. It's the kind of place that feels more like crashing at a friend's cozy cabin than a hotel. The funky decor gives off major chill vibes, and the staff is as friendly as they come. Plus, it's right smack in the middle of all the cool stuff in Darjeeling, so you can stumble out and explore in no time. If you're up for a laid-back, budget-friendly adventure, this spot's got your back(pack).

Everything was Superb Right from Entering the Premises we were greeted with Welcome Darjeeling Tea The Checkin Process was Smooth and Rooms weer excellent The breakfast was superb Only one problem we need to get up a steep rise to get into the Hotel which may be inconvenient for the Elderly people The food was excellent and rightly charged Value for Money was there for everything
First of all decoration, room arrangement, basic requirements, bathroom everything was very satisfactory. Thpugh it was very cold, near 3 degrees, we still felt comfortable inside the room. Staff of the hotel were very friendly helpful and kind. Third thing is it's prime location. Mall is just a few minutes walk away, kunga, dekevas, noryang, subway all were just few minutes away. One of best places to stay at Darjeeling
The rooms were clean, very comfortable, and the staff was amazing. They went over and beyond to help make our stay enjoyable. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting darjeeling, it near to the main shopping hub and nearby to all attractions around as well as the view from our room was mesmerising, the name lives up to it and the view of the summit from the summit is just wonderful.
Superb Stay, room where very very nice. Bathroom was clean. Staffs were really very good. Location was also near Mall road. Also the hotel was walking distance from Singamari taxi stand from where one can get share taxi for some of sightseeing at 20/- rupees per head. Also one can get share taxi for Gangtok.
I couldn't find this hotel at 51 Gandhi Rd, Darjeeling, so I then had to book into another hotel.
There was NO hotel, at all, at 51 Gandhi Rd, and nobody I asked knew of it's exustence.
There WAS a Sagarmartha hotel at 63 Gandhi Rd, Darjeeling, but they had no idea about any booking for me.
First they told to make payment for confirming the booking. I made half the payment online. When I reached there , the hotel staff didn't allow to check in saying they don't consider online booking even though they had rooms available.
I have visited many cities of India.. but the kind of fresh, delicious and hygienic food,
neat and clean room and
most well behaved staff..
I got at Tharbaling homestay in Darjeeling,
I never found such a outstanding hotel.. 👍👍
Each and every services was satisfactory. Staffs are very cooperative. Location is good. Breakfast is highly appreciated. I will definitely visit this hotel if I come to Darjeeling.
It’s very bad hotal . Service is very poor. Room is not cleaned properly. Don’t like to stay this type of hotel and booking.com should not recommend this hotel
Very accommodating, friendly owner and a great host. Considering the budget this is the best place Darjeeling can offer. The view from room is breathtaking.
