Amazing natural hot spring spa; some algae as one would expect for a rustic setting like this. Very friendly and hospitable staff and a lovely breakfast in a Scandinavian idiom. Convenient and quiet location a few miles from the ring road. Nicely decorated in a modern style. Clean and spacious rooms.

Location is unusual with a 360 degree view from the top of a hill which is where the hotel is located. An exceptional view of this part of Iceland which is an ancient glacial plain, so not spectacular, but very characteristic. It would be exceptional if you were pursuing the Aurora Borealis. Dinner was a very high quality fixed menu with one alternative choice of main (fish or meat).

This hotel is family run with so much care, the facilities are perfect, the room was lovely and the food delicious. The hot spa pools are sensational, really made it a stay to remember. The set menu dinner was absolutely delicious and made from local produce. The hotel owners pay so much attention detail with sustainability high on their list of importances. I highly recommend.

The hotel is very charming, with comfortable rooms. We enjoyed the thermal spa, with inside and outside pools and two hot tubs. The outside pool is really special, in the middle of nature. Dinner and breakfast were delicious.

Everything! Right from the moment we arrived we loved staying here. The hotel is very boutique, in a breath-taking location. The rooms are beautiful with fantastic views of the mountains. We had breakfast included in the room rate which was exceptional and access to a coffee machine is also included for free (which was so helpful!). Not only this, but the hotel owners were so friendly and made us feel very comfortable. This is before I mention their two dogs…Tinna and Skrumba who were hilarious, beautiful and so well behaved. We missed our dog so much whilst we were away; but Tinna followed us to our room most days and was great company. We had an amazing time and can’t wait to come back!
