Great little city, stayed for 2 nights and felt that was a good length of time as we did self drive and had done a lot of the tours already offered. Time to visit a couple of museums and do a food tour which I highly recommend.
Great pub culture, delicious food and drinks. Such a pretty colourful place so if you get blue skies rhe views are amazing.
Being from England, I didn't find Iceland that expensive as everyone says it is, only slightly more money that what I'm used to, but the food and drink quality is much higher, take time to research places and look around.
Cold though!!!

If Iceland is on your wish list to visit don’t hesitate.
If Iceland is on your wish list to visit don’t hesitate.
My only advice is to fit in as many tours you can to make the most of it……this isn’t a beach holiday!!
Do the walking food tour first it’s pricey but well worth it.
After that make your own mistakes but you won’t because your in ICELAND

Reykjavik is a great little town!
Reykjavik is a great little town! It’s small and can be completely seen in a short amount of time but we had a really fantastic time here and would certainly come back. Great restaurants, bars, and views!

I've visited here a few times now and it never ceases to bring me joy. It seems like everytime I come back I find something new, someplace new, and I meet such amazing (and nice) people. It truly is a great city and should be on everyones bucket list.

Its a very expensive city with a pint of beer averaging 1800 ISK which converts to over £10 GBP. The people are lovely, friendly and polite and the restaurants we visited were amazing. We tried most of the local delicacies and pretty much every food establishments food we tried was top notch. Although I wouldn't return to Iceland, I am certainly glad I have visited the country and experienced what it has to offer.

Reykjavík is an attractive, compact city with an artsy vibe,...
Reykjavík is an attractive, compact city with an artsy vibe, be we really only spend one day & a couple of evenings in the city. It’s a great starting point for exploring Southern Iceland, including the Golden Circle, the south coast & the Reykjanes peninsula. That’s doable ‘self-drive’ in 4 days - to see more of the country requires a longer stay or excessive amounts of driving. We found the driving was no problem - certainly easier than most European cities we’ve visited. Electric scooters were popular to get around the centre. Food is expensive but we bought supermarket sandwiches & had flasks with us to take our own coffee, so that saved a fair bit; fuel & parking were comparable with the UK & there were plenty of free natural attractions. There are some cheap street food type options for eating in the city, but restaurants & bars are very pricey. If you want to do lots of activities & visit indoor attractions, the price could skyrocket, but we just went for the scenery so spent very little.
The rooms are spacious and clean. Decor is also stylish and not tacky. The staff are friendly and helpful with any questions we had. The breakfast offered at the hotel is great as well, a decent amount of food options.
The location is fairly convenient, within walking distance of downtown Reykjavik. You can be picked up by transfer buses to the airport at Bus stop number 15, which is within 2 minutes of walking distance from the hotel, which is nice.
There are a number of good restaurants nearby as well.
The hotel is located in the centre of Reykjavik, just under 10minutes walk to the rainbow street.
The staff did everything they could to help us, including helping with planning our day when the weather was too rough for us to go whale watching or snowmobiling.
The room was a stylish mini-apartment with fridge, hob and sink; we had plenty of coffee available.
Very cheap considering Iceland prices and the level of the stay.
Earplugs were available in our room as we were located in front of a church.
Perfect location for exploring downtown Reykjavik without feeling smothered by tourist-geared shops and restaurants. Right across from Hallgrimskirkja, everything is within a twenty minute walk. The hotel itself is quiet, clean, and comfortable. The lobby offers 24-hour concierge service which is extremely helpful with activity and meal suggestions as well as with transportation and business needs. There is also a complimentary coffee/latte/mocha etc. machine in the lobby.
The accommodation looks like a dormitory turned into a hostel. The rooms are simple but clean, each room has a sink which is nice. Although we requested one large bed, it never worked in Iceland so even here we got two single beds on the opposite sides of the room to sleep on. The experience was okay. The city center is a little walk away and the airport shuttle bus station is just down the road so for an entry or exit point from Reykjavik it is an ideal place to stay.
One of the cheap nice hotels I found in Reykjavik for thanks to booking.com. Very clean rooms. The hotel has really friendly staff. They were able to provide for my requests of cutlery dead of the night.
The location is also great! bus stops are near by. hotel also provides a pick up service from the airport for an economic fee.
Breakfast was also pretty decent. Not many vegetarian options but with bread and salad veggies, it’s also easy to set a sandwich. :)
Hostel is located in the city centre of Reykjavik but still has large free car park. It’s very clean and has all the possible facilities: shared spaces like bar and good kitchen with option to make food, saving some money. Bed and room itself were fine, nice and clean, with good WiFi and charging station next to the bed. If you’re looking for a relatively cheap place to stay, this hostel is probably the best option.
I only stayed for one night and didn't spend much time at the hostel but for a bed to sleep in for one night it was totally fine, clean and friendly staff. I was there in May and there were not many other guests, so the bathrooms were free and clean. Can totally recommend it if you are looking for a cheap and good option to stay one or two nights in Reykjavik. The best thing: it is super close to the city center!
Baron's Hostel is cheap, super clean, with very confortable beds. Dormitories are small, thus quiet. The hosts are charming and very helpful. The location is excellent, close to city centre and BSI. There's an excellent swimming pool just accross the street, with hot pots to relax after a busy day. I could'nt wish for a better place to stay in Reykjavik.
The location is good, very close the center, you can do it walking.
The staff was very welcoming, friendly and always ready to help. The best!
The slice of cake and the free coffee is just great after a walking day. The room was enough for, confortable and warm.
Is a very nice cozy place to stay in Reykjavik
The hotel is located 2-3 km away from the heart of Reykjavik. It is very convenient if you have a car (there is a big park in front of the hotel). The room was good and comfortable and the price was quite cheap considering the Icelandic standard. I recommend it.
The location of the apartment was nestled comfortably in downtown Reykjavik. I could easily walk to the best museums, restaurants, and other noteworthy sights of the city. This is the reason why my overall score is a 7 and not a lower number.
the hotel was within walking distance from all the downtown Reykjavik activities. Hotel had several comfortable lounges with tea and coffee. The room was very comfortable with a nice sitting area and was well appointed.
Front desk personnel were very helpful, the room was comfortable and beautiful, the food was great--we loved this hotel! Easy walking distance to downtown Reykjavik. We'd recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Iceland.
A very cozy place in a quiet neighborhood, yet very close to downtown Reykjavik. The staff is super kind and they really help you make the best out of your stay in the city.
Beautiful home with hot tub and custom built hot sauna. The owner was very nice and helpful. This home is a wonderful place to stay just outside of downtown Reykjavík.
Location was perfect, easy walking distance from Central Reykjavik. Hotel is budget accommodation but worth staying at if you have to do iceland on the cheaper side.
It was very spacious and comfortable. The bed was the best I've slept on while on vacation. It's walking distance from pretty much anywhere in downtown Reykjavik.
