The room was small but comfortable. Lighting was good, and the bathroom was entirely adequate. I ate my meals in the main house, which provided me with dishes and silverware. But the best thing was the owner's collection of beautiful photographic art books, especially the one showing amazing images of Iceland from the air—little known parts of this fantastic country. The window in my room looked out on the looming Hverfjall crater, whose aspect changed with the changing light. The dining room in the main building was ringed with windows looking out on a beautiful part of Myvatn lake, whose banks were covered in snow when I was there It was idyllic. And the two beautiful dogs were extremely friendly and gentle.

Breakfast was delicious, the room was clean and location was great

Amazing location, family owned hotel by the lake. The room was clean and very comfortable. Access to a shared kitchen and there’s also the option to pay for a superb homemade breakfast. They make their own smoked trout and smoked lamp. The owners can also arrange activities for you in the area at discounted rates. Would definitely recommend!

The Dimmuborgir Guesthouse offers an array of lodging options, all of which look like rustic cabins. We (party of four) stayed 3 nights in the largest of the cabins. The two bedroom cabin offered a queen-ish bed and a pair of bunk beds. The facilities were clean and comfortable. The nights were quiet. Bonus for us: an aurora display our first evening! The breakfast is solid and features the trout and lamb that is smoked on the premises. We will return.

Valuable price. Great Breakfast! View of the Hverfjall Volcano Crater from the room was superb! Great facilities. Staffs was nice and helpful.

Breakfast was incredible! They smoke their own fish and meats, homemade breads and jams, and fresh fruit and vegetables. We originally planned to stay 2 nights but a pretty severe ice storm closed the Ring Road so we stayed a 3rd night. Helgi is an absolute delight to deal with and has great knowledge about and recommendations on various sites to visit. She makes you feel like family.

Very good location for northern lights, good breakfast, nice owners. We have been upgraded from a double room to a cottage which was really appreciated.

The site has breakfast, little kitchenette with fridge.

Excellent location on the lakefront with amazing views from the breakfast room. Breakfast was excellent.

lovely location with beautiful view of the lake. friendly staff and good breakfast is available. loved the community kitchen, great space to cook, eat and gather with friends.
