Inside the a mountain, a bit remotely located with very nice surroundings. Nice shower. Has two shared kitchens. Very quiet. Hiking trails nearby.

Nice farmhouse from sometime in the early 1900s, I would guess. Simple but very comforting to feel like you are snug in a house, inside a glacial valley with three waterfalls you can get to within 90 minutes' walk. My room was small and the single...

It felt as if we are driving to one of the scenic spot instead of guesthouse. The location is bit inside but very pictureseque.

We arrived at the property just before 10 and the owner was still there to greet us before heading to bed. We got to talk with her about the place and it was amazing to find out that this place was built in the early 1920 from her grandparents. ...

Very comfortable guest house with super accomodating owners. There were 3 kitchens so plenty of space to prepare meals. The location was stunningly beautiful for hiking and was delightfully remote

Company info

We are 3 siblings who run the guesthouse today. We are raised in the valley and have deep roots there. We know the valley well and are pleased to inform people about it.

Property info

Our guesthouse is located on an farm in the east fjords. The house was built around 1925 and was partly restored in 1987 and was then converted in to a guesthouse. Room nr 5 has always been the main bedroom, room nr 6 used to be two small rooms for children and room nr 4 was the living room on the farm. This house has always been in the same family but in the late '70 a new house was built for the family little bit further in the valley. We are pleased to welcome guests to our guesthouse.

Neighborhood info

The landscape is quite extraordinary. Rocks are abundant and hikes can be quite demanding if one wished them to be so. The river Fossá, which runs through the valley, has some twenty-five waterfalls each with its particular fascination thoroughly worth a stay and a closer inspection. A four-wheel track running close to the river and the waterfalls leads further into the valley. You are most welcome to visit us at Eyjólfstaðir wether it is to stay or just to enjoy what the nature has to offer.
