Perfect example of why you don't need to book a full on expensive hotel to have a great time in Iceland. Really big room and super comfy and private. Comes with a little outdoor patio to hang out in. Most comfortable/cozy room I found in Iceland. The shared bathroom was never in use when I needed it and is super luxurious / warm in the mornings. Guesthouse is owned by a family who live on the property so they're just a knock or phone call away. Check-out/check-in was super easy. Breakfast buffet was great - nice selection of breads (including the local rye bread!), meats, cheese, jams, skyr(!!), and coffee. About a 4-5 minute walk to the local spa and a bar down the street at another hotel that anyone can go to for a late night drink. Beautiful views of the lake in the morning and evening - would have been a perfect place to watch the northern lights if they were out.

Hanna, the owner was really nice and welcomed us despite of the late check-in. There are private parking places just in front of the rooms which is quite convenient. Breakfast was great and the location is perfect.

Galleri Laugarvatn is a peaceful little guest house owned by the couple Páll and Hanna. It has a cafe on site as well as a galleri offering quality products handmade by the Icelandic people. We enjoy welcoming travelers from all over the world and strive to keep our guests happy and comfortable while staying with us.
Galleri Laugarvatn is situated right in the heart of the Golden Circle. Þingvellir is only 25 minutes away and offers the opportunity to hike around our beautiful national park, fish in Lake Þingvellir, dive in Silfra and much more. In the other direction we have Gullfoss and Geysir just 25-30 km away from our property. Our little town is peaceful offering variety of things to do such as fishing in Laugarvatn, bath in the Fontana or hike up Laugarvatn mountain. In just a few minutes drive from Laugarvatn you will find various galleries, cafe's, horse rentals and other activities.
