Located in Akureyri, Hotel Akureyri Dynheimar features a bar. Free WiFi is available as well as free parking. All units are equipped with a flat-screen TV, mini-bar and electric kettle.

This was by far our favorite place to stay in all of Iceland! Aesthetics were off the charts perfect, easily walkable to many amazing restaurants and shops. They have a restaurant attached but they were going through renovations at the time so we didn’t try it but even the free breakfast was amazing. The host and staff were so kind, we got snowed in and they had no issues with us extending our stay and recommended things to do in town. Free minibar snacks and drinks, the room was so cozy and quiet and even had heated bathroom floors. And the bathroom products smelled amazing! Can’t recommend it enough! It is a must if you are in Akureyri!!

Nice place to stay while visiting sites in North Iceland.

Nice place to stay while visiting sites in North Iceland. We were able to see the Northern lights while there in early October, but our lodging was slightly out of the main city lights. Nice restaurants and easy to walk around. Botanical garden was a very nice place.

Great place for a day trip, or two.

Great place for a day trip, or two. Limited eating options (compared to Reykjavik). The lagoons (Forest lagoon / Myvatn) are worth a visit. There are of course also some nearby waterfalls. There's a fantastic petting zoo which is definitely not to be missed.

Nice small city . Surprisingly bug infested in late summer.

Nice small city . Surprisingly bug infested in late summer. Wonderful sights nearby. Very few free parking lots . Dettifoss was awe inspiring. There are steam venting sites worth visiting. There are crevasses separating American and European plates you can walk across caves and crevasses where Game of Thrones was filmed . Restaurant 23 is a great fish restaurant

Akureyri is a beautiful little town in N. Iceland.

Akureyri is a beautiful little town in N. Iceland. Super picturesque, at the base of a fjord. We booked a whale watching tour with Keli Sea Tours and saw humpback whales. Everything is walkable and there are some great restaurants, especially Strikið, where I had the best piece of salmon I have ever eaten. The botanical garden is free and beautiful. The kids loved the little Christmas house on the edge of town. If you are driving the ring road, you must stop here!

it was an exceptional stay from beginning to end. The bed was so comfortable we slept almost 24 hours straight. haha. The hotel made communication so easy and their kind and welcoming made me feel so comfortable. I walked in the room and said WOW. It was a true mixture of comfort, cleanliness, and had every amenity to make us comfortable. Breakfast is always fresh and delicious. I can’t say enough. I hope we are lucky enough to stay here again. Many thank you to the wonderful staff.

The bungalow was very comfortable and cosy, located in the woods. Fairytale and very romantic place. There is a queen size bed, video option with movies, table and small kitchen inside. The bathroom was enough big. We will recommend for dinner the Eyri restaurant on the lake, only 10 minutes away from the property. It´s a gourmet one (higher price level) but all very tasty with an excellend wine choice. Near Akureyri we will highly recommend also to visit the Forest Lagoon (thermal baths).

Great location although it was hard to find when we 1st got there at night. There was a key and a note explaining the house rules at the entry. The room was super small and the beds not very comfortable. But it was clean. Not wi-fi or mobile service available in our room. Breakfast was available at the restaurant, it was ok. The kitchen is super small and the tables area as well which can be complicated if there's more than one group trying to prepare dinner at the same time.

    - Location was perfect - managed to catch the northern lights. just on the outskirts of Akureyri, but no light pollution/noise - The barman was exceptional. Answered any and all questions we had (even not about the hotel, about forecasts etc) - Modern rooms (Netflix on the tv etc) - Excellent breakfast buffet - Free hot chocolates, tea, coffee on tap in the main area (open til 10, nice to sit in and relax, too). ask for milk if you need it - great WiFi - mini fridge in the room

We had a great stay in Akureyri and totally recommend Akureyri Backpackers. Our room was comfortable and spacious. The stuff was very friendly (especially the brazilian guy, I think his name was nicolai). The Hostel ist very close to some shops, restaurants and the harbour. The atmosphere at the bar was good, we also liked the breakfast and the tacos! :) Thank you! :)

A very nice, eco farm stay, quiet and cozy. The staff was very kind and helpful! We got some local recommendations. It’s close to Akureyri. There is a natural geothermal hot tube for use. There is a restaurant that offers fresh food. For us it wasn’t a problem, however please bear in mind that there are animals around and you actually live on a farm!

The location was very convenient, a short walk from the central restaurants/bars but just distant enough to not be noisy, and just off the main road (1). The quality of the breakfast food was very high (but a la carte, not a buffet like most hotels). Getting the PIN to unlock our room by text was very convenient for arriving late.

This hotel is in a decent location in Akureyri, it's close to a nice little bookshop that sells coffee, as well as a few other cafes and restaurants, and it's clean and quiet. I stayed over New Year's and even then there wasn't a lot of noise. A fine place to stay.
