Small, quiet (at this time of year) but very peaceful and beautiful! We caught our best show of the northern lights here! Also, would highly recommend Narfreyrarstofa for dinner, delicious and great atmosphere!

I loved the small-town vibe and charming Icelandic architecture located on an active harbour. Beautiful ocean views from the harbour-adjacent island walk! Enjoyed soaking at the local pool/hot pots, and happy to have a bakery, grocery store, and restaurants to choose from for meals. I would gladly stay here again, or for more than one night to see some of the local museums which were closed over Easter weekend.

The staff was excellent and very accommodating. They knew the area well and could recommend meals and other services to us. We ate at a very nice fish restaurant where the one waitress ran the entire restaurant efficiently and in a timely fashion.Great food

Great location on north side of peninsula.

Great location on north side of peninsula. Wish we’d had more time to explore. Excellent northern lights viewing near the lighthouse. Go up the stairs toward the lighthouse and turn left to block harbor lights.

It is a nice little town by the sea.

It is a nice little town by the sea. There is a small hill by the harbor you can climb that offers beautiful views. There are also a few restaurants, cafes, shops and museums but it is also nice to just walk around.

The town is in a perfect location on the top of the Snæfellsnes peninsula, a port town with daily ferries to Iceland's West Fjordlands and Flatey, well worth a visit. The peninsula itself is blessed with fabulous scenery, and Stykkishólmur is a good base. The town has several good restaurants (but you need to book) and a very popular fish and chips kiosk. Whale watching and puffin cruises are available. A nice town!

The whole guesthouse was extremly clean: The room itself, the bath and even the breakfast room! The guesthouse is located in the city centre - you can easily walk to restaurants & the lighthouse. The breakfast was very good with bread, yoghurt, fruits and more (very good price). The owner was very nice and event sent us our phone charger (that we had forgotten in our room) to our next hotel! Modern and huge bathroom!

A modern and clean hotel. It’s interesting history as a previous convent only added to the spotless common rooms and private rooms. Good location overlooking the harbor. Staff was very helpful and accommodating and very friendly. Elevator was interesting but useful. Great breakfast.

This was one of the best places we stayed in Iceland. Family run, they were very accommodating, great breakfast! We ate not long before we arrived but wish we hadn't. Others said the food was great and that the pizza was better than any they had so far in Iceland.
