Loved the staff here! They were so friendly and so caring. We had checked in a little later than we wanted to and they still greeted us with kindness. We told the gal we were leaving the next morning at 7am but the guesthouse coffee area was only opened at 8, so she gave us some instant coffee and a kettle so that we can make our own in our room! I loved it here and the room was so clean!!!

  • Will I see the norther light from here, during late November ?
    The auroras are visible in Iceland from the end of August. This is a natural phenomenon and depends on weather. Vatnsholt is the perfect place to observe the Northern Lights, we are far from the city lights, can be very clear and full of colors.

  • We would be arriving may 2021, assuming covid protocols are still in place are we allowed to self check in, etc?
    Thank you for your interest in our hotel. We offer accommodation following the rules during Covid 19. As of today, it's only possible to stay overnight with self-check in. We cannot guarantee additional hotel amenities.

  • Hi, I’m thinking about rent a double room from Thursday till Saturday and I was wondering if the access road to the property is clear of ice as I got a small car I don’t want to be stuck or rent and can’t get through the road. Thanks

Vatnsholt is an old farm, today we are running 34 rooms guesthouse and a restaurant in the old barn.
We have been renting out rooms in Guesthouse Vatnsholt since 2010. We moved from Hafnarfjordur to Vatnsholt 2006 and opened 2010.
The location of Vatnsholt is great for trip to the Golden circle and exploration of the whole south coast. We are also just a few minutes away from waterfall Uriðafoss or city Selfoss.
