Mola is a wonderful town rich with culture. From the large piazza to the historical sites to their beautiful beaches, and their food, makes it hard not to want to return. If not renting a car, arrange rides with local drivers. They’ll be at your disposal and it is reasonably cost.
It is located centrally in the region of Puglia and you can do day trips to many other places. I recommend Alberobello and Bari Citta.
Don’t miss out.

Mola di Bari is a beautiful town where we were able to experience typical Italian life. It's a medium-sized town (25,000 people) but actually feels much smaller because of its organization around a very large piazza right near the sea. This is not a location frequented by tourists ... we were able to enjoy great meals at nice restaurants without marked-up tourist prices and tourist crowds. We shopped at local vegetable and fruit stands, and encountered friendly and helpful people everywhere. The proloco (volunteer) organization, with an office in Palazzo Roberti (right on the main piazza) has an exhibit centering on the religious history of the area, and the people there were very helpful in explaining the history of the town as well as the main points of interest there (and even invited us on a tour of a church there). If you stay in the Centro Storico, it's very easy to walk everywhere, and even the train station is a short 10-min walk away, so you really don't need a car at all when visiting Mola.

Beautiful place, excellent food, amazing people.
Beautiful place, excellent food, amazing people. I felt like a guest, not like a tourist!
Definitely worth visiting if you want to know Apulia.
A few tips: rent a bike (there is a small bike rental at the main square, at Beppe's), eat at Rifugio del Pescatore, La Rotonda, Braceria Zi Luigi and Ristorante Van Westerhout.
Good cocktails at Tortuga.
No car rental in the town, organise yourself before (Bari).
At Tabaccheria di Ottomano, ask for Nicola, he can organize the trips to nearby gems (by bus and train).
Definitely go to fish market. Look for Rocco from bike shop.

Mola di Bari could be your typical small town-village...
Mola di Bari could be your typical small town-village situated along the shores of Adriatic sea. Nothning fancy, but lots of history, if you are inclined to look for the one. Shiny stone paved streets, two piazzas, one nice park, small business stores and friendly people.
Beaches in the neighborhood are not worth remembering, so if you are a beach goer, look for other options.
But, Mola di Bari is ideally located if you are thinking of visiting Matera, Locorotondo, Alborebello and Ostuni, Lecce , Bari- vithout exception all of them first class tourist-historic destinations.
We visited Puglia in late June 2022, so be reminded that the web sites information on the train and ferry timetables was not reliable.
Driving in Italy could be tasking, the signs along the roads are often placed short distance from the desired exits. To avoid missing your exit, best strategy is to drive in right lane, possibly not behind the trucks which can block your view.
For history lovers and those of you who do not mind being remanded of the way people lived and organized their lives in the past, and particularly for the lovers of beauty- Puglia is a great destination.

Our hotel was more than perfect but town it self-there was nothing much to do except restaurants. No sandy beaches-just rocky ones. If you have car, Mola di Bari is perfect place where to sleep after daytrip through Puglia.

Small and nice seaside town, with great seafood and fish restaurants. The town does not have its own beach, but it is possible to bathe on the rocks. There are good sandy beaches in the neighbouring towns, Cozze and Polignano a mare. There are not many shops and amenities, but the okd town is lovely with its bars, restaurants. There is also the port with the fish market. The seaside promenade was renovated a couple of years ago.
Where to start....location of the hotel is perfect. 15 min away from the railstation and near the city center. We had a view to the really Italian street with all the atmosphere there. And the terrace, where we had breakfast, was with the view to the port. Our room was so cozy and have been cleaned every day.
Special thanks for the breakfast. Marica and Domenico make amazing crepes with cappuccino that we are already missing💙💛
Really the best B&B where I have ever been💙💛
Cristina was an amazing host and her space, La Casetta, was wonderful for our stay in Mola Di Bari. A lot of planning has gone into making the space comfortable and Cristina went out of her way to make sure we had everything we needed (she even brough over an iron when we couldn't find one in the apartment!) We felt so at home staying here and had an amazing trip. I hope to be back again some day.
Absolutely unique place. Beautiful and clean apartment, lots of space. Balconies and a large terrace are an additional advantage. The hosts greeted us with a smile and were very helpful. Mola di Bari is a great place to feel the atmosphere of Italy. well communicated, easy access to the most interesting places of Apulla. I would highly recommend
Mola di Bari is an ideal place to stay when visiting the Puglia region. The location is convenient, is close to Polignano a Mare and other towns but are not crowded and it has an Italian seaside town charm with very friendly people. The apartment is close to many restaurants and we even bought seafood directly from the fishermen at the market.
Hosts were friendly, especially the husband of the host prepared a perfect breakfast for us. Respect! He also drove us till train station when we checked out. Thanks again.
Our new room was good, it was not directly in the city center as we booked actually. But Mola di Bari is not that big so within 10-min distance we were in the center.
Great communication before arrival. Very helpful and informative. Lovely room, tastefully decorated and perfect bathroom. All very comfortable. Small hotel nicely fitted out, including lift which was very handy. Super location just a couple of minutes from the main square/piazza.
Great communication! The hosts were super kind and helpful, as they offered to pick us up from Mola train station and helped us rent bikes for going around as the property is not directly in the center of Mola di Bari but about 10min drive on the bike.
Everything! It was great to be in a house again after hotel rooms. The host is extremely friendly and accommodating. The facilities are inviting and cozy. I could have stayed there a week!
Lovely hosts, great apartment and awesome balcony. Everything we needed was there and decoration was on point:D Mola di Bari also is a sweet town and ideal starting point to explore the region
The design and architecture of the hotel was amazing, the room and amenities were great, the service was just as good and the breakfast and coffee in the morning was top notch.
