This was a charming lodge above Lago Maggiore. We could no longer see the lake, but beautiful views in the mountain. The staff were very friendly, the room perfectly fine, and a very good restaurant in the Albergo.

Casa Della Neve is set on the Mottarone Ski Slopes, 1640 feet from the nearest ski elevator. In the summer, the area is full of hiking and cycling trails. Rooms have simple wooden furnishings and a private bathroom with shower. All overlook Mottarone or the Mount Rosa mountain chain. Fondue, polenta and grilled meats are just some of the specialties served at the hotel restaurant. An Italian-style breakfast is available each morning. At an altitude of 4757 feet, the hotel is 6.2 mi from the Botanical Gardens at Alpino and a 35-minute drive from Stresa on the shores of Lake Maggiore.
