The location of the hotel was outstanding with great views and a convenient shuttle o get us to the town and back. The spa was also excellent and we enjoyed our massages which we has on two occasions

It was a great experience overall. The resort is beautiful and the facilities and food are excellent. The staff is very accommodating. After we checked out, the staff made it very easy for us to remain at the resort and continue to enjoy the facilities for the rest of the day. San Montano is also a tremendous value. Staying there feels like a huge indulgence, although the rates are reasonable.

The views were truly jaw-dropping. This must be the best location on the island, without a doubt. I could see the sun rising over Vesuvius from one of my patios (yes, there were two!), and the sunset isn’t too shabby from the bar either. The view from the pools is great as well. My spa treatment was really good, and it’s purportedly the only spa on Ischia with an ocean view. The staff would drop everything to help you, and you can get completely free shuttles to the beach or to Lacco Ameno at your convenience. The drinks were great. Even the quote on the stationary makes it clear what this is about: they tried to make the most beautiful property on the island, and I daresay they did.

Unbelievably beautiful spot on a hilltop by the sea on Ischia. Jaw dropping views that will stop you in your tracks. Truly top class service by a well-trained staff. Even though you could tell a lot of the staff was new and there for the summer season, it was immediately apparent they had been supervised and trained exquisitely. The pools have to be the best on Ischia (I’ve stayed in four other upscale hotels, and this was the best, by far. Not even close). Really good breakfast and the dinner was pretty impressive too.
