Best-known for the stunning Duomo, Florence is full of amazing buildings and its historic center. The Ponte Vecchio, a 14th-century bridge holding a multitude of shops on its edges is a stunning example and provides a truly unforgettable view.
Dig into more of the city’s historical past at the Basilica of Santa Croce, a Franciscan church full of great artwork and the burial place of Italian greats: Michelangelo and Galileo. The Uffizi Gallery is one of the world’s finest art museums and the Pitti Palace is not far behind.
For great dining, the Santa Croce district has countless options and the unique lampredotto is Florentine fast-food with a 1000-year old history. Many consider the local gelato, Italian ice-cream, to be the best in the world.
The beauty and flavours of Florence are just a 15-minute train ride from the Amerigo Vespucci International Airport. Whether you’re looking for a room with a view at a cosy B&B, a luxury hotel or an intimate guesthouse, Booking.com has the perfect accommodation for your Florence adventure.
Beautiful city and easy to walk everywhere. Best to book galleries etc in advance to save queuing up. My favourite was the Pitti Palace and Boboli and Bardini gardens. The Bardini garden has a cafe with a terrace with a great view but it was very busy at lunchtime and we couldn't get food as they had got too far behind with orders but great for a drink.
San Spirito over the river has a great square with restaurants and cheaper than centre of Florence. The Gilli cafe in the centre has a great buzz about it, fab cocktails and great for people watching

Undoubtedly, Florence has fascinating history and wonderful...
Undoubtedly, Florence has fascinating history and wonderful sites and views which I really enjoyed. However, sadly, there are no sufficient walking spaces provided for the crowds of tourists who come there. Many walking paths are very narrow and uneven, and car traffic is extremely busy even in the oldest and narrowest streets. Pedestrians must be very aware of constantly speeding cars, motors, scooters, and bikes and take great care when crossing streets (especially with children!). All this makes sightseeing stressful and even dangerous. Another problem in Florence, compared to other major cities in Europe is the near-total lack of green spaces- parks or green squares etc, at least in the area between SMN train Station and the Oltrarno which I got to know. The exception is the vast Bobboli Gardens but you must pay to enter here. For this reason, I would avoid Florence in the height of summer. I think both locals and tourists would benefit from more green spaces and the closure of motor traffic in the old city quarters. Another problem is the overwhelming majority of carbohydrate-based food- white bread, white pasta, pizzas. Traditional and delicious as they may be, alternatives should be offered for a carb-free or celiac diet, which is common in other parts of the world.

Can't say anything too much of Florence.
Can't say anything too much of Florence. Have been there dozens of times since I was a child. Seen anything with the most varied eyes.
Last time I was there I wandered around places of my childhood: my aunt used to live a little north of San Marco, close to the ring road above. I discovered what was must have been a very lush neighborhood during medieval times: all remnants of gardens anywhere (one of them is now a hotel). There's the "Garden of the simples" but many more, hidden behind the gates of a nowadays villa.
Also, if you can get off the beaten track, you'll find ordinary places that still have the rust of the past: the Farmacia dei Medici, still open until not so long ago and that still bear the signs of the potions sold.
A road have a sign indicating the house where Andrea del Sarto lived, a painter of the 1500 who decorated a visitable cloister* just a couple of meters by, a house that he himself built with his bare hands.
Wake up early, step away from the noise and you'll find out all of this and more.
Cheers.
* pay attentions to opening days. on sundays they vary.

Florence is a wonderful city.
Florence is a wonderful city. It’s worth a longer visit so you take your time exploring and get off the beaten track. It’s easy to walk all around the city, both sides of the river. A great place for solo female travellers - I always felt comfortable and welcomed.
Piazza San Spirito is a lovely place for an early evening spritz and a chance to soak up the atmosphere.
If you are interested in archeology, take a day trip to Fiesole.

Excelent venue with tastes for all.
Excelent venue with tastes for all. Would definitely work remotely there to really get to know the place. Great city to visit. You need to balance your art / museum visits unless you really like religious paintings and iconography.

Boutique hotel Hugo was nice but getting to it was difficult...
Boutique hotel Hugo was nice but getting to it was difficult. There is no stopping on the street, so I had to park at a garage 2 blocks away and carry the bag on a cobblestone street. Than climb 4 flights of stairs. Luckily the gentleman Rocco who was in charge of the front desk helped us. Nice hotel but I wouldn't recommend if you have any physical health issues.
Where do we start. We would like to thank Matteo and David for their hospitality and extremely helpful information about the surrounding area and city center. It makes such big different impressions for our trip in Italy. The hotel location is perfect for my husband and I. The hotel is located in a quiet neighborhood, and yet walking distance to the most attractions. I think the most important is their personal people to people service. This is certainly a stay we would like to come back during our next visit. Thank you Matteo and David!
So adorable! This hotel is fairly on the new side and has a chic/modern feel to it. The layout seemed to be well thought through and it has been beautifully decorated. My room was just enough space for one person. The location is far enough away from all the noise but close enough to quickly get to the action. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast at the hotel was #1 compared to the other hotels I stayed in during my time in Italy. I would definitely return for another stay here if I am ever back in Florence.
Relais Tiffany is in a great location for exploring Florence and is close to the train station too if you're travelling. The room was comfortable and clean with AC and water, tea and coffee provided. Antonella was super helpful and sent through a list of recommendations beforehand including where to eat, drink etc. She also helped us plan how to get to our next destination in Italy and was really flexible with us when it came to leaving our bags after check out time. We would highly recommend!
We cherished the AC (apparently not that common in Central Florence) and the breakfast was delicious with a lot of options.
Perfect for digital nomads since the bedroom had a desk and the common areas were spacious and comfortable to work remotely.
Friendly staff, they stored our baggage long after check out.
There's a supermarket across the street and the best pizza we had in Italy (ZeroZero 00) is close by. Also, the tram is within walking distance.
Everything! Such a lovely authentic place with great hosts, Daniel & Alyssa. We felt as if we were in Italy all the time rather than only once we got outside of the usual generic hotel. (A trip highlight was our host’s recommendation that we also try visiting the lesser known Lucca on a day we were going to visit Pisa & we loved it so much we stayed there & didn’t bother with Pisa at all! - best tip ever!)
Every part of this hotel is EXCEPTIONAL starting with the staff who are all gracious, helpful, very very professional. I have traveled for many years and stayed in many hotels in Florence and in Italy and the Davanzati is the very best. The breakfast, the tea, the "happy hour" all over the top fabulous! the staff, the rooms, Book early because this hotel has very loyal repeat customers!
Lovely B&B in Firenze. The hosts were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was delicious and offered lots of options, best breakfast we had in Italy :) The location is quite far from the main centre of Florence (a 30min walk), however there are bus stops nearby the B&B that go to the train station, city centre, and also to Piazale Michaelangelo (amazing views over the city).
A lovely hotel is in front of the tram station. 6 stops and you are at the central train station 7 stops and you are in the center of Florence. One minute of walking and there is a large supermarket. The staff is really charming and humane even in the most stressful moments. Everything is clean. I choose this hotel already 4 times during my vacations in Italy.

Without a doubt the best party we had in Italy! The residence is beautiful, very well decorated, the rooms and bathrooms are large, beds and showers are excellent. The staff is super kind and helpful, the breakfast is delicious, and of course, the cute dogs are delightful company. We will definitely be back and we will recommend it to everyone who stays in Florence 🙂
My girlfriend and I booked a 2-night stay here and it was one of the best experiences we’ve ever had in Italy. The host made a considerable effort to make sure our room and restroom stayed clean. The host was also extremely friendly and accommodating and it made our experience in Florence 100x better. We will most definitely be visiting again when we come to Florence!
Amazing! A room with a balcony in the historic centre of Florence. The room was very nice, beautiful. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We travelled around Italy. This b&b was much better than a tree star hotel in Rome. The hotel is very well located. The train station is almost across the street. I recommend this hotel by heart.
First of all the stuff was more than excellent especially one guy, always there to help us and to give us advice for our Italy tour. The room was amazing and every day we had new fresh clean towels, slippers and a clean room. There was parking and if it was full they had second option for you. Overall I suggest this hotel 100%!
The staff at Hotel Rapallo went above and beyond for us, helping us with our bags, recommending delicious restaurants, and providing the best service that we had during our time in Italy. The bed was supremely comfy, the location was central to most of the sights in Florence, and we could not have been happier.
Location location location! Literally 30m from one of the main piazza’s, perfect location to explore Florence central. Beautiful cosy appt, very clean and tidy.
Great communication leading up to the stay and recommendations for parking which helped immensely.
Best place I stayed in Italy on my trip.
Was very clean, Marina (the manager) was polite and very cute. Is not far from city center (about 20 minutes on foot). Is important to mention that the rooms have air conditioning (is indispensable in summer time, especially in Italy :)). Everything was perfect, I definitely recommend this hotel!
The Hotel is literally across the Piazza from the Duomo basilica. Extremely central position, but expensive, but hey, June in Italy is expensive. The room itself was very good, breakfast was great and you can walk to every museum, the river, so very central.
Location location location..... this is the main reason why we easily picked this hotel. It was very near the CIty Center of Florence, the Duomo of Florence Italy. And shops, tourist attractions, food and shopping are just an arms away...
The room was generally clean, the hotel is very close to a tram station and you can reach easily the city center. Also they have free parking, something that is very rare in Italy
