Kite-shaped Trapani makes an impressive sight from lofty Mount Erice, connected to the peninsula below by cable car. On a clear day, the mountain also offers views of Tunisia - one destination of ferries from Trapani Port, alongside Cagliari, Pantelleria and the offshore Egadi Islands.
Overlooking the port is the old town, where arched doorways on narrow streets open onto many cheap apartments and B&Bs on Booking.com. Shabby chic façades sit alongside historic churches, such as understated Trapani Cathedral, somewhat lost amid elegant Corso Vittorio Emanuele, where pavement cafes sit in front of pastel-coloured buildings and metal balconies.
At the tip of the peninsula is the fortress-like Tower of Ligny lighthouse, now housing the Prehistory and Sea Museum. The Colombaia Castle protects the port from an island to the south, while in the other direction the sweeping coastline passes some beachfront hotels with swimming pools.
Villa Margherita Park offers shade from the Mediterranean sun, and Triton’s Fountain graces a neighbouring square. The simple façade of the Basilica of Maria Santissima Annunziata hides the treasures within, including a statue of the Madonna of Trapani which is at the heart of the Easter ‘Misteri’ celebrations.
Between the city and Trapani-Birgi Airport, historic windmills sit beside salt pans. The Salt Museum provides details of this major industry.
Trapani is a great "normal" town- not too touristy.
Trapani is a great "normal" town- not too touristy. There are great restaurants, good shopping, and you can reach a lot of wonderful places such as Erice, San Vito lo Capo, the Egadi Islands, Marsala and loads more. There are beaches, churches, ports...a bit of everything but at a relaxed level.

Perfect town for a short break or for a beach holiday, the town is in between a harbor and the beach. The city centre is vibrant, lots of restaurants and bars. The surrounding areas worth a visit if you are interested in arts, nature or simply laze on the beach.
People are friendly, the food spectacular!

Trapani is lovely town nicely laid out with good public transport - although beware as the busses stop running by about 21:30 in the evening and none on a Sunday. A good selection of shops for those wanting to indulge.
The old town is stunning and a must to visit both during the day and particularly in the evening when it totally comes alive with an abundance of restaurants to suit every taste and pocket.

Surprisingly quaint with lots to do.
Surprisingly quaint with lots to do. Great sandy beaches, lots of shops and amazing restaurants and bars in the old town. Also provides easy access to lots of other places to explore like Erice via cable car, Egadi Islands by ferry and Marsala, Castellemare del Golfo by train and Palermo by bus. It wasn't overly touristy either and got a really nice, more authentic experience here compared to some of the other cities in Sicily. Highly recommend! 3-4 days would be perfect

It was our second trip to Sicily in October.
It was our second trip to Sicily in October. This is great time to visit the island. Trapani is really beatiful, great Old Town, fine cuisine (busiata alla Trapanese !!!). Great trips: San Vito Lo Capo, Erice (!!!), Egadi Islands, salinas...
However, too much garbage on the side streets...
The room was very spacious and you could really settle in for longer stays and feel at home. It had 2 full bathrooms and a large bedroom. Full kitchen was great as we didn't want to go out for dinner.
Host was very helpful and friendly. Washing machine was great as we were mid way through a large road trip around Sicily. Room on the terrace for hanging washing.
The room had several air-conditioners and looks like oil heaters through all the rooms for winter.
The location of the stay is in one of the better areas of Trapani.
The staff was amazing. They were extremely kind, friendly, and helpful. One of the best hotel staffs we have ever come across.
The building design is really cool. The lobby of each floor was made of glass and so the natural light in the room came through the window to the lobby. No exterior windows meant the room was quiet even when the city around was still up with nightlife.
Because it is not a large hotel, there were several times when we enjoyed the roof top pool all to ourselves.
Eliana is the best host that you can find on booking. She is happy to give you all the information and suggestions for activities and places to eat. The apartment is very nice, recently renovated and equipped with everything. On top of this, there is a big terrace where you can relax. The location is very convenient since you can park the car for free in the street and by 15 min walk you are in the center of Trapani. Extremely recommended when visiting the surroundings of Trapani!
This apartment was amazing, the best stay of our trip. The host, Luca, was extremely helpful in sharing helpful information and recommendations. We ate at three of his recommended restaurants and loved them. He thought of every detail in the apartment and provided many extras, such as beach towels, umbrellas, coffee, tea, water and special treats. Parking was convenient and close by. We highly recommend this apartment which is in a great location!
Beautifully decorated and well furnished, the property lacked nothing. The bathroom was large and modern and the bed was comfortable. The breakfast was the best I’ve had on my trip. The hosts were very nice and helpful and made my stay even better by their personal attention to detail.
it’s very close to the beachfront and within walking distance of all the old town attractions. Free parking on site or on the street or in a lot across the street.
The localization was perfect, right in the city centre, close to main beaches. The breakfast was delicious, we will always remember the tastiest local jams and croissants which the host gave us fresh every morning. The host was professional, kind and helpful. We felt like we were hosted by a family member. The apartament was like a five-star hotel, very clean, spacious and comfortable. We will definitely be back at Carlo’s Rooms when in Trapani!
Perfect location for exploring Trapani. Our room was beautiful, with comfortable large bed, good shower and Ornella as hostess was amazing. Ornella gave recommendations of where to eat - best food we have had since arrival in Sicily. Breakfast is recommended - Bacon, eggs, Sicilian bread and lots of choice of sweet pastries. If we ever return to Trapani, we will not hesitate to return here to stay.
Mostly everything, the host was super nice and very spontaneous in communication. So far in our week sicily trip, this was the best flat so far. Everything in order, neat and clean. The host was also kind enough to welcome us with some snacks and everything you need in kitchen is there. Very comfortable stay for both hot/cold weather. Location was very close to the water and city.
Hotel is beautifully decorated and in the centre of Trapani - really near gorgeous cafes and the beach! Staff were super helpful - special shout out to the ever smiling Sal - who is a joy. All the women on reception were so kind and helpful. The balcony had a great view and we all loved the terrace bar. Our Netflix worked and the beds were super comfy!
Good location and very nice host. Good communication. Comfortable bed and good kitchen. Compared to other accommodation in Trapani, bright and dry bedroom. We were looking for last minute accommodation and the host helped us with everything. We were very grateful for that. Thanks to this accommodation, we really enjoyed our stay in Sicily.
Lovely BnB, very comfortable. Owners are exceptional in their kindness and service to guests. On our first morning the owner took us for a tour of Trapani to the salt flats, beaches and port. The next day he drove us to the beach and the following day he drove us to the port to catch our ferry. Quite wonderful and highly recommended.
The host, Matteo and his wife were very friendly, warm, and attentive. The breakfast is very large for Italy and had a lot of wonderful home-made items to chose from. Especially enjoyable is the orange marmalade. The property is lovingly restored with a attention to detail focusing on the Belle Époque era. We highly recommend!
The apartment was well-appointed and had a wonderful view of the ocean. It was a great base for exploring Sicily's north-western beaches and islands.
We really appreciated the air-conditioning, washing machine and strong water pressure. Andrea was the perfect host and extremely helpful throughout our stay.
We highly recommend!
We spent two weeks in Sicily in different places and Belle Epoque was honestly the best place by far. The owner Matteo is very helpful, speaks great english and has great attention to detail. The breakfast was amazing with both sweet and savoury choices. Everything was clean and well maintained.
Really nice apartment right between the beach and the main corso. Laura is very helpful and had even arranged for us a boat tour to Favignana, captained by her dad, which was one if the best experiences of our entire Sicily roadtrip. Can highly recommend tha place, real pleasure.
The hotel is in the heart of Trapani, its clean, huge room and the host, Marco is very accomodating and friendly and he helped us with recomendations. We are really thankful. 5 stars for this hotel.
The Hotel is situated in an historic building, with beautiful rooms and in the centre of the city. We had a welcome drink, it was really nice. Parking was possible in front of the building.
