Given room upgrade on arrival which was much appreciated. We had a good sized room with a huge private terrace and large modern bathroom.Breakfast on the terrace was delicious and served in a timely manner. We ate both in the Bistro and the Michelin starred restaurant , food in both excellent. Pool was clean and there were plenty of sunny and shaded areas around. Staff were very helpful throughout our stay. Easy access to hotel from station , so good to visit other areas by train.

This place is fantastic on all points! It's a family run business and you can tell from the attention to detail and level of service!
The location is stunning and it's the perfect walking distance to many restaurants (our favourite was Tender) and a 5min walk to the fantastic beach!
Breakfast is served in the romantic garden with the backdrop of a stunning cathedral. (Breakfast can also be served indoors in the equally beautiful kitchen setting which is really beautiful and authentic.)
The location in general, and rooms, are impeccably clean and comfortable and have all of the necessary amenities. We even had a retractable clothes line in our bathroom which was super helpful to dry off swim suits/ shorts after a day in the beach.

We had never heard of his place and said there to read a long drive from Rome. Moneglia is sort of an island reached by way of one-way tunnels. Once there it is a very cosy and small resort with much space for walking, bars and restaurants. We loved the Sunday morning street market and the locals were lovely.

It hasn't changed much in 50 years , very nice village hope it ll stay the same for like forever. Went there for a week made of quality time and relaxed strolling around the village , sitting on benches under a tree early afternoon or walking uphill on the way back to hotel at dusk ,rewarded by the gorgeous view of the bay once you get there . Food rolls back the years as I have Genoan heritage so had to be careful not to indulge too much with focaccia or pansotti or fritue... .

Moneglia is a charming little town in Liguria.
Moneglia is a charming little town in Liguria. It has a large sandy beach which is perfect for small children. Everything is within walking distance. Lots of good restaurants and shops. Cinque Terre are a couple of train stops away. We used to go to Sestri Levante very often but since we discovered Moneglia, we now have a second favourite place in Liguria. Highly recommended!

Moneglia is absolutely gorgeous.
Moneglia is absolutely gorgeous. It's bursting with the smell of jasmine and has quaint little European alleys and tree-lined streets with an array of restaurants, bars, and cafes to explore. I would highly recommend Element for their truffle pasta and Assirto for an incredible dining experience.

We've been going to Moneglia on and off for 30 years.
We've been going to Moneglia on and off for 30 years. Not too many tourists and a good place from which to visit the Cinque Terre and hike in the mountains. The sheltered beach is perfect for young families - it's like one big shallow swimming pool. The restaurants in town aren't particularly special - suggest a walk/bus ride to L'Uliveto and Pagliettini for excellent value. The view from Ruotola is spectacular. We always lunch at Bagni La Secca on the next door beach where the pasta a le vongole is extra special.

Moneglia is a beautiful town with plenty of shops and restaurants. I liked walking around in its lovely streets. You can choose among different kind of beaches, so it's basically for everyone. Streets of Moneglia are during the day very busy and due to small amount of parking opportunities is often almost impossible to park your car, especially on weekend. If you find a parking spot though, the hourly parking fee I found really expensive, so be prepared to pay, or try to avoid parking for longer period of time if not necessary. After all, I'd love to come again for sure.
From the WhatsApp sent to confirm the booking, the offer to be collected at the train station, parking available, beautiful set-up, rooms, friendly staff and really amazing breakfast with fruit salad, great coffee, kettle in the room with coffee/tea, it met all possible needs. It is a guesthouse experience as I would expect it and like to offer our guests. Walking distance to the train station and in the centre of a quiet town (in May). Perfect to enjoy an Italian town and pop into Cinque Terre as needed. The jacuzzi was a great bonus.
Enjoyed the view from up there in the bay of Menoglia and the peace of heights.
Very hot in the summer.
Prepare yourself for a full adrenaline drive to the beach.
The host is very friendly and helpful.
We spent 4 days with our dog and almost all day long we were down to the beach or visiting Cinque Terre and Portofino. But in the night we enjoyed watching the falling stars and the lights in the bay from our terrace.
We recommend .

quaint European accommodations. it was close to the sea. the town and the people were friendly. Air conditioning available upon request. We were told they don’t get to many Americans visiting so language might be an issue. We did not have any issues.
The hotel was within walking distance from the train.
Hard to figure out how to see more of the town. We would have enjoyed a tour around the town. (scooter rental or electric bike)
The room was small but had everything we needed, including air conditioning, a kettle and a coffee machine. It was right in front of the free beach which was great for us and also walking distance from bars, restaurants, ice cream shops and supermarkets. We would definitely go back if we returned to Moneglia! The beach was quite good for snorkeling as well :D
The deco is very charming, it is a family run small hotel and all the staff is super friendly and helpful, also to organise excursions in the area. Rooms were comfortable, super clean, though a bit stuff (especially those on the third floor). It is very conveniently located, close to the beach but on a quiet side road.
the staff are the kindest, most wonderful people you’ll ever meet. everyone was so caring and they even let me check out late, so I could relax before my train. the location was perfect, just a step from the quiet and peaceful beach. the breakfast was great, filling and the view was amazing! best decision I’ve made.
This was a great adventure for our family, who is so used to hotels and Airbnbs. Same old, same old. Smeraldo is this unique little community--part camping, part quaint little bungalows that we called "tree houses." While it's a bit more rustic, simple, rough?, it was really a wonderful experience.
washing machine in unit, AC was a plus, clean, amazing views!
we bought fresh pasta in town and ate on the upper deck!
Rita was amazing. She picked us up at train station and also one evening in town when we arrived at 10 pm from Cinque Terre!
She had what’s app so it was easy to text her.
This was our favorite place to stay on our trip to Italy. The hosts were friendly and helpful, the room was set up nicely with snacks and water, and the beach was about a 10 minute walk. The room was airy and had great views, and we loved staying here.
Loved everything! The staff are so friendly and welcoming and made us breakfast to have on our balcony. The location was fantastic with everything you need on your doorstep, including the beach. Moneglia is 100x better than Cinque Terre.
Hostess Elizabetta is charming and helpful. Her garden, where breakfast is served, is lovely. Moneglia is the perfect location for visiting the beautiful Lingurian coast: relatively quiet but full of good restaurants and shops.
The room was extremely modern and clean, you can reach everything by car (Moneglia, Sestri Levante) and the view was stunning. Sonia is a great host and always made sure we had everything we needed and more
the hotel is very nice, clean but old. we didn’t realized theres no air conditioning which need to request ahead. it’s not very pleasant to stay without air conditioning in the middle of July w heat wave
Location amazing, Moneglia town was amazing…….beach below the hotel great. Room very clean. With rustic charm.
Pool great. Good selection for breakfast. Traditional family run hotel.
Moneglia - is the pearl of Italy. Appartments have excelent location just near beach and even have free parking here. Host very very good people with light and kind comunication.
Breakfast was good. Location is wonderful, with the town of Moneglia just a short 10 minutes walk away-lots of stairs though! Beach in front of the hotel is lovely.
The view and the breakfast :) astonish us. What a secret location, a litlle bit tricky to come there but it is worth it to try and come to this special hotel ❤️
