Huge house.. My kids were extra excited to have a large superior bed and separate room! The location is perfect - it is close to all main family attractions in Garda so no much driving 🙃

I am Vera, granddaughter of Giusy and Enzo. I wanted to keep intact the story of these walls, trying to make it transpire through a minimal and essential restructuring that could highlight the love for history, thus giving the opportunity to breathe the strength and especially not to forget the importance, always, to fight for their ideals. I am at your disposal during your stay to advise and support you so that you can enjoy the beauty and opportunities offered by the area of lower Lake Garda. I love nature and I am happy to suggest small food and wine/biological gems that can enliven your stay. Included is free access for a whole day to the swimming pool of the "Belvedere camping and restaurant", a great opportunity to visit Lake Iseo and take advantage of a trip out of town. (Voucher valid only from the end of June to mid-September). I will be delighted to welcome you to the Casale, my second home! I am waiting for you!

Property info

In April 1948, 200 volunteers led by Agostino Noaro and Luciano Manara became aware of the presence of a group of Austrian soldiers in Castelnuovo and decided to occupy the village, stopping inside. On 11 April, the Austrian command, informed of the incident, sent reinforcements from Verona so that the volunteers' resistance could be suppressed. Noaro's men were forced to abandon Castelnuovo, retreating to Lazise, and the Austrian troops engaged in looting and violence. One of the many episodes was atrocious and took place in front of the Cavattoni pharmacy where women and children had found refuge. A friend of the pharmacist, Captain Mauller, knocked on the door and tricked Lorenzo into saying that nothing would happen to them if they left. The result was a real execution in which everyone lost their lives, including Dr Cavattoni and his family. This is the story enclosed within the walls of the Casale, which has seen love of neighbour triumph, giving protection to women and children.
