We love it here! And Mauro is the best! We stayed at Castel Pietraio for 3 nights and it was the perfect base for our day trips to neighboring towns. The inclusion of breakfast in the mornings had everything we needed, and the room was clean and cozy. Mauro, the owner, gave us a tour of the cantina and taught us about their wine making process. You can tell he works hard and has a kind heart. We had a wine tasting afterwards and would have bought every single bottle if we didn't have to pack lightly.

United Arab EmiratesThis is a beautiful and authentic historical wine resort in stunning surroundings, with elegant and very comfortable rooms. The owner and his staff are welcoming, and we enjoyed a wine tasting on our first day; the breakfast was excellent. There is also a great restaurant in walking distance (550m). The location is ideal for exploring the region by car (Florence, Siena, San Gimigniano, Monteriggioni, and many other beautiful places in the Chianti region).

NorwayWe liked the location of the property, it was about 25 minute drive to Siena. It was a convenient point of exploring Tuscany. Swimming pool was big enough for recreational swimming.

Castel Pietraio is located deep in the Tuscan countryside, just 10 minutes from the perfectly preserved walled village of Monteriggioni and less than half an hour from beautiful Siena.This medieval castle, once important for defending the area, now offers peaceful, relaxing accommodation in a stunning setting. On site you will find a large open-air swimming pool with lovely views, a children’s playground and a barbecue area.
Rooms inside 17th-century Castel Pietraio are furnished and decorated in keeping with their history, with exposed wooden beams and terracotta tiles as well as all modern comforts.
In a tranquil but easily-accessible area, from Castel Pietraio you can be at San Gimignano in half an hour, as well as numerous other pretty historic towns. If you prefer to stay closer to home, you can go horseriding, walking or cycling directly from the castle and just 550 yards away is a village with shops and restaurants.
