Garni August is on a hill above town and there is a walking path that gets you to the center of town in 10 minutes (downhill). It was quiet and clean and the breakfast was very good, lots to chose from on the buffet. Our standard room did not have a view of the mountains but did have a sunny balcony. The bed was okay, the room was quiet and there was lots of hot water. It is close to a number of gondolas and trams that will take you to beautiful places to hike. Staff is friendly and their english is excellent, talk to them about places to hike!

The location is very picturesque---on a hillside above the town; actually in the middle of a ski slope, so in winter, it's ski in-ski out. The property is beautiful and well-kept inside and out. Looks more like Switzerland than Italy. Breakfast had a wide variety of meats, cheese, eggs (hard-boiled), pastries, bread, cereals, juices, torts and preserves, plus any type of coffee desired. The hostess, Judit (spelling?) is Ladin and dresses in a traditional Ladin dress during breakfast. She is very pleasant and speaks Ladin (a language only spoken in this one valley), German, Italian and English fluently. The bed was comfortable and the shower was great. It is not a fancy, luxurious property but I wasn't looking for one either. It's basic, no frills, but very comfortable. I stayed 6 nights.

This hotel is on the mountainside above the town of Ortisei. The town is in a fairy-tale beautiful valley. There are numerous hotels in the town which are more convenient but Garni August has the superb views. It is simple but impeccable and the staff is as gracious as is possible. We were a three generation family who stayed for three nights and we all loved the location, the activities and the hotel.

It could be reached by 10 min walking from town (shortcut way uphill but not too steep) or public bus (not often) or car. It's quiet and serene. The breakfast and coffee are superb with the variety of foods. The room is clean and cozy with the balcony and amazing view!!! The family who runs this hotel are so kind and friendly.

One of our best sellers in Ortisei! Immersed in the Val Gardena valley and set on the ski slopes, Garni August is 2,950 feet from central Ortisei. It offers rooms with a panoramic balcony, free Wi-Fi and winter shuttle service to the town center.

Rooms at the August are fitted with carpeted floors, traditional wood furnishings and a TV. Offering lovely views of the garden and the mountains, they all have a bathroom with toiletries and either a bath or a shower.

A sweet and savory buffet breakfast is served in the traditional breakfast hall. After breakfast you can unwind in the garden with parasols, wooden tables and benches and a children’s playground.

Guests enjoy free access to Ortisei’s pool center, with indoor and outdoor swimming pool, a few steps away.
