La mia è una storia che parte da lontano… Anno 1870 il mio trisnonno Giuseppe Ardoino salpava in mare con i sui due velieri “il Risveglio” “e l’Oneglia” dal porto di Oneglia. Uno: direzione America, l’altro: Ucraina. Trasportavano pane, piantine di basilico, pomodoro e verdure, un poco di carne, il pesce lo pescavano direttamente in mare... la stiva era colma di olio extra vergine di oliva. La dieta mediterranea solcava i mari per terre lontane (dal 2010 la dieta mediterranea è patrimonio dell’Unesco). Anni ed anni sono trascorsi e la mia famiglia ha continuato a parlare di alimentazione. Mio Padre Nanni Ardoino, denominato da Veronelli come il Negociant eleveur per eccellenza, nel 1980 ha fondato la prima scuola di assaggio d’olio (O.N.A.O.O.) e per primo ha avvolto le bottiglie di olio in carta dorata. A distanza di anni molte cose sono finite, cambiate, evolute ma due sono inevitabilmente rimaste intatte: gli olivi e la mia passione per la buona alimentazione. Da qui nascono l’agriturismo e l’azienda agricola che ho voluto chiamare "Il Risveglio" in ricordo delle mie radici.Sono appassionata di gastronomia, arte e design. Amo viaggiare e leggere.
L'entroterra di Imperia è molto suggestivo e caratteristico. Dista pochi km dalla prestigiosa Montecarlo e Genova. Anche Alassio, Diano Marina e Sanremo sono comodissimi (circa 15 - 20 min di auto). Imperia è una piccola città di mare, sicura e con un ottimo clima: d'inverno le giornate fredde sono veramente poche, in primavera e d'autunno il clima è temperato, l'estate è piacevole con giornate calde e prevalentemente poco umide.
