What a beautiful place! You drive through an old stone arch to go back in time to a glorious stone house on the edge of the cliff with a lovely ancient church across the courtyard. Water streams up in the garden below. It's heaven. Really comfortable and spacious rooms. And a good breakfast with the name of your room on the table. Excellent. Grazie!

The place was welcoming, cozy, and absolutely charming, with a very friendly owner. We got a spacious room to place all our bike gear and luggage. Comfy bed, nice view, quiet, private parking right in front of the house to leave our bikes for the night, and good breakfast - what else you could wish for! The place was easy to find, though from the road we would never guess that it inhabited. It had a large courtyard and lawn in front of it where we spent the whole evening relaxing after a long day on the road and playing with the friendly dogs :) We stayed one night but enjoyed it so much that I wished we could stay longer.

I wish I could give Castello a rating of 11. An exceptional host, fantastic location on a working farm, spacious, comfortable accommodation, everything was perfect. Even the view from the balcony. This is even more so compared to other accommodation I encountered walking the via Francigena, where small cramped rooms and indifferent hosts are the norm. Thank you for a wonderful stop on the Francegena, the highlight for me.
