Monopoli is a town and municipality in Italy, in the Metropolitan City of Bari and region of Apulia. The town is roughly 156 square kilometres (60 sq mi) in area and lies on the Adriatic Sea about 40 kilometres (25 miles) southeast of Bari. It has a population of 49,246 and is important mostly as an agricultural, industrial and tourist centre. Located in the south-eastern corner of its province, near the borders with the one of Brindisi, and by the Adriatic Coast, Monopoli borders with the municipalities of Alberobello, Castellana Grotte, Fasano (BR) and Polignano a Mare. The town is 15 km from Fasano, 33 from Martina Franca, 44 from Bari, 64 from Taranto and 75 from Brindisi.

Monopoli is a very clean and safe place where you feel comfortable exploring both at day and at night. The historic areas are perfect for pedestrians. We really enjoyed walking the pathways along the Adriatic Sea with historic castles and fortresses, the docks with fishermen returning with their catch, and the beautiful waterfront views.

Monopoli suffers of the competition to the nearer Polignano a Mare but it is a quiet and quite beautiful town: enjoyable sea side with beaches of rock or sand. In the old part of the city there is some interesting museum and a very beautiful Cathedral were a spent some time taking nice pictures

Riccardo was very helpful if we needed any advice on places of interest to go to, and the best beaches to visit . The property was spotlessly clean and tastefully decorated. If l ever get the chance to return to Monopoli l would definitely book here again, and would make sure to reserve room 5! Riccardo also picked up our luggage in his golf buggy from our car on both arrival and when we departed (the area is a car free zone) thank you Riccardo 😊

Everything was clean and very nicely decorated, beautiful, modern style. But the best about this rental is not the flat.. The family who owns it is the most welcoming, most flexible and most generous we have ever come across! We have travelled a lot, but B.'s hospitability is unmatchable! The location is very convenient and the best places in Monopoli are all at walking distance. Our hosts manage the parking thing smoothly, my car remained in a free and safe zone, 20 meters from the building. The check-in and check-out were worry free. It’s located about 10-15min walk from the train station and 5min from the main beach. Cafes, grocery, pharmacy are all also walking distance. I’m so glad I picked Monopoli as my pied à terre to explore Puglia and even more glad I picked Anna’s place. It was clean, quiet, amenities are modern but the place has lots of cachet. Would stay there again anytime.

We had difficulty finding the hotel because our GPS didn't really know the way at the very end, but the staff came to us and guided us despite the late hour. Breakfast was generous and tasty. The landscape around the hotel was pleasing to the eye, and the dog was very friendly. Free parking made for a perfect place to spend our first night in Italy.
