Parabita is centrally placed and an ideal spot for touring all sorts of places such as Gallipoli, along the coast, which was wild and beautiful on the day we visited We also went to Santa Maria di Leuca - a great storm was battering the shore. The recommendation from our hosts to visit the restaurant Veneri in Parabita was a good one - we had a wonderful lunch and spoke to the owner whose father was at the Olympics, taking part in Karate. Although the pool was not open, naturally enough, we found the peace and quiet just what we needed to recuperate from Naples., and even Taranto - though there, the archaeological museum and castle were real highlights of our tour of southern Italy. What most impressed us was Donna Flor's talents as a chef - your can order a meal in the morning and it will be ready when you come back, tired from your travels. We loved the décor of the room and entire house - and we would love to visit again. There is a fridge in the room, which is good if you are touring around.

Property and pool area is really nice. The restaurant might not be the best value for money in the area, but we enjoyed witnessing the events that were held here (baptism, graduation party, 40 years birthday etc). If you like us enjoy Italian culture, this is greatly entertaining.
