This hotel is an oasis of calm just off the mayhem on the main street of Pompeii. After the visit to the ruins (which up to 4 million visitors a year go) you enter a quiet orange tree filled garden where you can take meals which are all freshly prepared with the scent of Jasmine in the background. Friendly and helpful staff and the hotel arranged a private guide just for us not part of a group who showed us much more detail than the bigger groups could possibly take in. On the main street outside there were restaurants of all kinds but we ate in and it was very similar in prices to those outside.
Located next to the Pompei Santuario Station, Hotel Palma is just a short stroll away from Pompeii’s ancient ruins. Enjoy views of Mount Vesuvius from its panoramic terrace.
Hotel Giovanna is a 10-minute walk from the Pompeii archaeological site and city centre. You will be 200 metres from the A3 motorway exit. The hotel is surrounded by gardens.

Fly to Naples International Airport, 25km from Pompei. From there, take the Circumvesuviana train (40 minutes). Alternatively, drive via A3 motorway (30 minutes). For domestic travellers, direct trains from Rome take approximately 2 hours.
The most convenient airport for Pompei, Italy is Naples International Airport. It's ideal due to its proximity, approximately 30 kilometres away, and its extensive domestic and international flight connections.

Definitely a great place to stay to see the nearby attractions but, despite having three train stations, the transport links are not great. We were based here for a week and found the public transport frustrating. Last minute platform changes for trains only announced in Italian and giving insufficient time to change to the right platform. Buses leaving up to ten minutes early or not stopping. There is a Flixbus to Sorrento but it only gives three and a bit hours on a day trip from Pompei. To visit Capri we had to have a night in Sorrento which was an unexpected extra expense. On a final note if you eat gluten free the choice is fantastic. It is understood and catered for!

Pompeii is a lovely and cozy and absolutely beautiful town!
As a solo female traveler I always felt very safe, and I was able to fully enjoy and explore both the city, and the sights like the ruins and mount vesuvius.
Note that there aren’t any Ubers or any easy way to get a taxi if you’re staying a little outside the main city core (I stayed at a 30 minute walk away from the Main Street), but it’s very walkable and there’s pavement all around, and some busses if you can figure them out but I generally just walked everywhere :)
There’s also areas for parking if you’re bringing/renting a car or even for campers and RV’s right next to the city centre (abt 3-5min walk from the Main Street).
The Pompeii ruins are a must visit and I recommend going with a guide that’s also an archeologist, I found several tours including the one I took that also went to Herculaneum via GetYourGuide. There I also found the “tour” (just a shuttle bus really) that went to the highest entrance of Mount Vesuvius (leaving a 20min/1km hike to the top of the crater) which was also very cool and I definitely recommend going there too while you’re in Pompeii!

The ruins of Pompei is an amazing place to visit.
The ruins of Pompei is an amazing place to visit. We booked a personal guide with Askos tours. A fella by the name of Alfredo. He was an archaeologist and had worked on the excavation of Pompei so he was full of amazing facts. You can walk around on your own but without the right guide it would be a waste. So many amall details that you would miss on your own. Its a long day walking but worth every step. I would highly recommend seeing it.

Pompeii was amazing - I could’ve roamed around the ruins for another day. Our hotel was a 4-minute walk to the ruins! No lines because it is off season - the weather is perfect! We ate at the hotel restaurant and it was amazing - one of the best meals in Italy so far!
This is a little gem of a place run by the most excellent Teresa and her father. The room was exceptionally well appointed, comfortable, modern and well facilitied. It was the best standard of room I had while in Italy this time. I also had a view of Vesuvius from my window.
Teresa is lovely, extremely helpful and knowledgeable (listen to her tips) about what to do and how to get around. Also about local restaurants etc. I really enjoyed staying in Pompeii and will definitely be back :)
Marina was an amazing host who made us feel very welcomed and gave us the best private tour of Pompeii. She is warm, enthusiastic and very knowledgeable. She really brought the ruins to life with her descriptions and I could not recommend her enough. We have been on a lot of tours and this far surpassed any tour guide we have had before. 10 / 10
The accommodation is centrally located near the ruins and lots of restaurants. We had 3 adults stay and were comfortable.
This hotel by far was the nicest place in Naples. The Pompei site was directly behind the hotel. You can see versuvius from the pool that has a bar. Great service from the staff who knew a lot about wine. We enjoyed a tour of the vineyard and wine tasting with lunch. The food was delicious and they were able to cater to my vegan husband. We had issues with our car upon checkout and they were willing to help. 5 star service.
THIS APT IS INCREDIBLY GOOD IN ALL RESPECTS. THE CLEANLINESS, THANKS TO ASUNTA WAS THE BEST SEEN YET. THE APT WAS VERY PLEASANTLY FURNISHED. AND THE KITCHEN AND IMPECCABLE BATHROOM HAD MORE THAN EXPECTED QUALITY ITEMS.
POMPEII RUINS WERE A STONE THROW AWAY. VERY QUIET NEIGHBORHOOD. VERY GOOD SECURITY WITH KEYED WINDOW BLINDS. F
THE BED WAS OF EXCELLENT QUALITY AS ALL LINENS, BATHROBES, PLENTY OF TOWELS.
We absolutely loved our stay at Villa Ettore! We both agreed that this was the nicest place we stayed during our trip to Italy by far. The room was beautiful and much bigger than our suite in Maiori that cost twice as much. The owner was very kind and knowledgeable about the area. We loved his close the place was to both the train station and the ruins. We would definitely stay there again.
The apartment was very clean modern, and comfortable. With two separate bedrooms it is perfect for families. The host was just perfect, helped us with everything from parking to restaurants. You can visit the ruins of Pompeii by feet, there are a lot of great restaurants near the apartment. Best apartment we stayed during our three-week stay in Italy!
The room is large and clean, very close to the Pompei ruins museum and close to the city center. It's quiet and friendly, the breakfast is good (italian, lots of sweets, coffee and tea, don't expect a continental breakfast in places like these as it's not traditional in Italy). A big 24/7 supermarket is right across the street if you need anything.
Really close to Pompeii for early morning start. Big comfortable room, quiet at night and good internet connection.
Nice to be welcomed with a smile by the host.
Out the gate turn right for a really cheap local bar (with awesome breakfast cornnetos) or left for Franco’s pizza (the best we had in Italy…).
A big thanks to the receptionist! Very gentil and helpful. The hostel is lovely! Well decorated and very well located! Close to restaurants and bars, also near Pompeii archeological site and train station. People from pompei is one of the most friendly I’ve encountered in Italy.
Great property and lovely family hosting it. Absolutely loved the theming of the room and the heating worked great, which has been rare in the south of Italy so far. Also allowed us to leave our bags for free while we visited Herculaneum for the day. Breakfast was great too!
Todisco is a 5 minute walk to the ruins of Pompei. The restaurant has delicious pizza and pasta and a fantastic breakfast from meats to cheeses to bread and sweet rolls. The best feature of Todisco is the kindness of host Caterine and her daughter.
It was fantastic, the breakfast was delicious, the best we had in Italy. The view from the balcony was lovely and the staff were super helpful. brilliant location for visiting Pompeii. could not rate this place more highly.
The lovely apartment with new and modern furniture lies only 300 m far from the archeological area. The closed parking is spacious - this is not usual in Italy. We have felt very good.
sparkling clean, everything from furniture is new, bed is really comfy and apartment is in the good location right beside pompei. Also quiet neighborhood. Our best stay in Italy.
The view and room was very splendid! We lived very close to the towns center and not at all to far away from the Pompeii ruins. The hotel workers were hospitable and very kind.
Comfortable in good location and reasonable breakfast (for Italy).
Was able to leave luggage there while I visited Mt Vesuvius prior to leaving Pompeii
