San Donato in Poggio is a charming medieval village with a well preserved square and roads. It is small but it has lovely views and excellent restaurants. It makes an excellent base to tour the Chianti valley and it is halfway between Siena and Florence.

San Donato in Poggia, a medieval typical Tuscan village, is charming and delightful to wander round. We recommend the Pizzeria (La Cuccina) and the restaurant La Toppa. The butcher is great; he offers delicious chicken spit roasted two days a week (Tues and Sat) and you can ask him to keep one for you to pick up in the evening. The local Coop (situated a few moments away from the village, in walking distance) is small with some excellent local produce. Their tomatoes were delicious and they sold a variety of good local wines.

San Donato in Poggio is a charming, medieval town.

San Donato in Poggio is a charming, medieval town. The streets are cobblestone and very narrow. Views from the town are lovely. There are several excellent restaurants and pizzarias. We ate at them all and were not disappointed with the service, food or wine. San Donato is in an excellent location for day trips to Pisa, Florence, Sienna and many more Tuscan cities. If you want a quiet, charming, historical town to stay, San Donato fits the bill!

The apartments were really nice, clean and cozy. We had every thing we needed, and there is only a short drive to the nearest shop and charming little town San Donato. The best thing about the stay was Andrea’s (the owner) hospitality. He invited us for a wine tasting which was one of the most memorable moments of our trip. We got to not only experience his fantastic wine, but also his passion for the wine and it’s process. We strongly recommend Agriturismo San Silvestro. We will definitely come back!

Kind and helpful staff, easy communication. Newly renovated facilities with all you can need on a short stay. We could use common areas - kitchen, living room and the outdoors terrace. New air-con is so quite, I haven’t even realized it was on all night. Good new windows that isolate any noise from outdoors, comfortable beds. Area has nice local restaurants and small local bar all within a short walk distance. You need a car to arrive here.

Our host was very helpful and came to meet us at the car to help with our bags. The apartment was clean and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. We had read the town was small with only two options available for dinner so had booked ahead but our host offered to get us a table at one of the restaurants if we needed somewhere for dinner. Very helpful and friendly.

The location is ABSOLUTELY gorgeous 😍. The apartment we stayed had that Italian feeling which we loved it. Beds were very very comfortable and the kitchen had some pots , pans and utensils which came very helpful, especially when you're travelling with hungry kids . We won't off season so no many people around and the pool was closed which is understandable.

the house has all the conforts (most of the time we were outside but it would be possible to cook and to keep things in the fridge). It is well located in the middle between Siena and Florence. Very nice village with some top facilities and restaurants: bar il poggio, la toppa restaurant. The cinema at the ARCI circle is at 50 mt from the house

Small apartment in a very cute village in the Tuscan hills, the host was very kind and accommodating, fully furnished if you want to cook, with a supermarket at 5min walk and 2 restaurants within walking distance in the village. Perfect place to stop overnight when hiking the via romea!

Proximity to San Donato in Poggio and possibly at the heart of the Chianti Classico area. Spaciousness of the apartment. Pool and Private courtyards.
