This lovingly restored town house is located in Ceriana, an authentic 'borgo' only 20 minutes drive from the seaside and about an hour from Nice Airport. With its vaulted ceilings, heavy stone walls and terrazzo floors, this house provides the perfect setting for a genuinely rustic italian holiday. In order to create a light and open atmosphere, doors have been removed on all three floors save for the bathroom. The house has three floors and a 25 m2 terrace extending from the top floor with a stunning view of the mountain terraces that provides world famous olives, truffles and vegetables. Perched on a cliff in a lush valley between the Ligurian sea and the pre-Alps of Piemonte, Ceriana is an ideal base for exploring the region or just staying put in this charming village. Please note: If you are looking for Club Med Resort-ish comfort, please do not book our property. This is a medieval house with three floors in an ancient village on a cliff - there are many stairs. In colder months there will be a charge (daily rate) for electricity and wood pellets (5 euro per sack). There is no bidet.
After Copenhagen, Ceriana has become our second home and we try to spend as much time as possible there. Usually we enjoy hiking in the mountains around the village and the children love swimming in the natural pool, which is open though the summer.
Located in a lush valley in the Ligurian alps, Ceriana is close to the sea as well as the mountains. Mt Ceppo at apx 1500 meters of altitude is within hiking distance, while the beaches are only 20 minutes away by car.
