Academic and Artistic Greatness
An artistic gem, Padua (or Padova in Italian) seamlessly combines awe-inspiring heritage and a modern vibe. Counting Galileo among its former tutors, the University has the world’s oldest UNESCO World Heritage-listed botanical garden.
Across the road is huge Prato della Valle, a green square with a canal lined by 78 statues, and home to a Saturday market. A market is also held in squares near to Palazzo della Ragione whose multi-levelled arches and vaulted wooden ceiling are an impressive sight. Cobbled, porticoed streets lead to the finely-crafted Gran Loggia and clock tower.
Every church has incredible décor, but the most famous is Saint Anthony of Padua, boasting the bones of the saint, an impressive 7 cupolas and 4 cloisters. The square in front has a statue by Donatello. Padua Cathedral's simple exterior houses amazing frescoes inside the baptistery by Giotto, creator of the jewel in Padua’s crown – the Scrovegni Chapel. His 14th century frescoes there have been meticulously restored to be as vibrant as the day they were painted.
The closest airport is Venice Marco Polo, but before you head there from your Padua hotel, apartment or B&B take time to enjoy the narrow streets around Palazzo del Bò or the Jewish district.

Visitar els frescos (capella Scrovegni, baptisteri del Duomo ..). És una ciutat neta i tranquil·la, sense un excès de turisme. El centre té una mida que permet anar a peu a tot arreu, per uns carrers estrets, amb porxos i alguns canals i amb racons sorprenents. En general, no hi ha "menú del dia".

EL que més m'ha agradat ha estat la visita a la Capella...
EL que més m'ha agradat ha estat la visita a la Capella Scrovegni. També la Universitat, Catedral i Baptisteri, així com d'altres capelles. Molt bonics els carrers antics, farcits de cases i palauets molt cuidats i conservats. Un gaudi per a la vista! Places molt àmplies per a l'esbarjo, un riu que té un passeig molt bonic i racons curiosos. Jardí botànic, zones per a estudiants molt ben condicionades. Ambient molt agradable. Shopping per a tots els gustos i butxaques. Visita recomanable!!! Restaurants excel.lents.

Pàdua és molt agradable i poques aglomeracions tot i que vam haver de tornar per no haver-hi visites guiades al museu a l'arena. Hi ha una zona prou degradada al voltant de l'estació de tren però el centre històric és prou bonic.
