The hotel is just opposite the central station in La Spezia and a perfect starting point for a visit to Cinque Terre. My room was a single room, it was small, but comfortable and the bed was comfy and the shower/bathroom facillities were fine. The breakfast was basic, but with options of both Italian and Continental style dishes. The personal was nice and friendly and very helpful for any questions, and I could leave my luggage there for the day on the day on my departure. Very good value for money.
Set in a renovated historic building, Hotel Firenze e Continentale offers elegant air-conditioned rooms.

I stayed here for two nights in mid April. For visiting Cinque Terre, the location is probably the best you can get in La Spezia. Its about 50 meters from the train station. The hotel is clean and comfortable and has a surprisingly good restaurant. The staff are very friendly and helpfull.

The hotel had a very friendly atmosphere, staff very helpful. Breakfast was excellent with lots to choice. The location was excellent, with loads of restaurants and shops nearby and it was a short walk to the harbour. It was about 15 minutes walk to the railway station. We enjoyed a swim at a nice quiet beach at San Terenzo that we got to by bus from the harbour.

La Spezia is one of those typical cities of the Liguria Region where colourful houses cover hills and cliffs, providing panoramic views over the sea. Thousands of years of history and a heart open towards the sea have shaped the character of this town surrounded by the 'Cinque Terre'.
Located on the coast of the namesake gulf, its proximity to Genoa has greatly influenced its development and culture. Take a walk uphill from the harbour, and admire the display of architectonic styles in the Old Town. Some of the best hotels in La Spezia are located here, while elegant guesthouses and villas with gulf views can be found in the highest areas.
Must-see sites in the city are the 13th-century Church of Our Lady of the Assumption and St George’s Castle. The ‘Sea Festival’ is organized every summer, and its highlight is the rowing competition ‘Palio del Golfo’, a race between the 13 villages of the gulf. Departing from the port of La Spezia, boats can take you to the enchanted ‘Cinque Terre’.
The harbour is a 15-minute walk from La Spezia Central Station, and Genoa’s Cristoforo Colombo Airport is 105 km away. While planning your trip, check out Booking.com’s accommodation deals in La Spezia.

La Spezia is always presented as a working port , with no tourist value. We found it to be a good looking , relaxed city , plenty of eateries and cafes , pedestrian areas to walk and a great transport hub. While my friends did the Cinque Terre walk , I made a very easy 90 min journey by train to Lucca.
Infact , it was very nice to be in a town that was just going about its own business.

I have been to La Spezia before.
I have been to La Spezia before. It is very cosmopolitan and I particularly like the traffic free pedestrian area in the centre. Lots of lovely shops. Great for access to boat and rail trips to The Cinque Terre, Lerici and Portovenere

We are a family of 3 with a small child of 4 years age. We planned our itinery based on the weather forecast. We visited Cinque Terre for 1.5 days, followed by Pisa + Lucca on a day and rounded our trip by visiting the top attractions in La Spezia for few hours. I liked visiting the technical naval museum, crossing The Thaon di Revel Bridge walking along ,Costantino Morin Promenade, strolling through Via Del Prione & Corso Cavour. My son loved playing at the play area in Public Gardens. We loved eating Farinata @ Murphy's in La Spezia.

La Spezia was a great place to be based to visit Cinque Terre. The town does have a lot of graffiti though, which we initially regarded as being off putting, however we did not feel unsafe when we were there.

La Spezia is a great place to stay if doing the Cinque Terre trail. It is a nice spot with lots of shops and restaurants. November seems to be a quiet time for the area, we imagine it would have been busier and more atmospheric during summer months.

Beautiful town.
Beautiful town. Wish we had more time to spend another day there. We stayed overnight there so we could use the hop on hop off ferry to the Cinque Terre. Ferry as nice. Then took train back to La Spezia. Beautiful little city. We walked to the boat dock through the town. Lovely walk and harbor is very pretty. Got some delicious pastries in the morning, but we have no idea what they were - unfortunately. Also unfortunately we didn't get a chance to see anything else LaSpezia has to offer. I hope you do.
Since La Spezia is a base for trips to the Cinque Terre, we chose this hotel, which is located right next to the train station from where trips to the area depart. There is parking close to the hotel which is very necessary. Beyond that, the stay there was beyond all our expectations. The landlady Rosella was so lovely and helpful with everything. This small hotel is charming, clean, well-equipped and simply pleasant. Simply a great pleasure.
Grazie dal profondo del mio cuore Rosella.
This is honestly the best hotel I satyed in Italy! For a reasonable price you get a high class room with more than everything you need (even with european type electric sockets :) what is a great problem in Italy). I would like to wish the owner to keep this level and reasonable prices!
I mostly enjoyed the temperature in a room, the bathroom which was so clean and well-equiped and also I liked the bed with heavy warm blanket and very comfortable pillows.
The location of the hotel was perfect for our needs in LaSpezia, tucked away from the main pedestrian boulevard, a quiet oasis. Guillermo met us as we arrived, and was very informative, professional and helped us with dining reservations! We met other members of his family, and everyone was so kind and helpful. Breakfast was provided at a nearby cafe, the fresh squeezed orange juice was delicious, coffee and pastries very satisfying.
The location is excellent, in the lower part of La Spezia closer to the waterfront. One block from the street with bus lines leading to the the train station and beaches outside town. Three blocks from the waterfront. Lots of restaurants, cafes and other amenities nearby. The hotel is managed by a couple who were very nice and provided helpful recommendations on local eateries and beaches.
A most remarkable property manager, Marina. She greeted us kindly upon arrival, got into my vehicle while assisting me with parking, and asked us if we needed anything throughout our stay. The most hospitable property manager in my 40 years of traveling. As for the property, it was clean and simple and located near downtown La Spezia and next to the train station.
just a few minutes walk from La Spezia train station. Laundry and breakfast places are one minute walk from hotel building. both Simon and Elisa were so kind to take care of us. our kid broke the table lamp accidentally in the midnight, they didn’t ask for any compensation. they are really generous and kind. Chocolate and wine are available in the room for free.
Very nice hotel right next to the La Spezia Centrale train station, so it is very easy to reach all the villages of Cinque Terre. La Spezias Central area is only a 15 min walk. Hotel has a lovely breakfast and if you come by car there is a private parking available. There is also underground parking right across the hotel but it was full when we arrievd.
Great location very near train station. The hosts were amazing. Communication was fantastic the hosts were welcoming and gave us lots of tips.
On the hosts suggestion we had dinner at Nana which was only 3min walk away and the best restaurant I went to in Italy!
They also gave me a free bottle of wine on arrival!!! Thank you so much.
Beautiful property, clean spacious room with a gorgeous view. Friendly, kind and helpful owners. Emiliano was very helpful in explaining how to get to places we were visiting and both Emiliano and the young lady at the front desk always greeted us with a smile. I recommend this hotel if your staying in the area! Bella! Grazie!
Very nice hotel, in the outskirts of La Spezia. The staff was extremely diligent and always with a smile.
Not so easily accessible if you do not have a car. Also due to the landscape, it took some effort to carry the luggage up the stairs into the room.
However, overall very nice place to stay.
Well equiped apartment with breathtaken view to La Spezia. Convinient check-in with free parking near house. Close to Train Station - only 6 min by car. My kids was very happy finding toys and books in Sylivia's House.
Hosts were punctual , very communicative , professional and the property was very well kept.
The property was cleaner than any 4-5 star hotel we have ever stayed at .
Location was excellent, could not be better.
Nice breakfast.
Clean rooms and hotel.
Perfect place to start your cique terre trip, since it is right next to the smaller La Spezia railway station.
Friendly staff.
Free big parking spaces.
Centrally located. Close to the train station. Great air conditioner. Good size bathroom. The room is much larger than the other hotel rooms that we have stayed at while in Italy.
Amazing hotel, great pool overlooking La Spezia and nice staff. Also a good location if you want to visit the Cinque Terre. Breakfast also very good. Clear recommendation!
It was our best stay in Italy ! Marina is so nice and gave us the best advices and instruction to amazing trip in La Spezia !
