Wonderful location!!! Somewhere to sit outside in the garden or watching the boats pass by out the front. Good breakfast room and less expensive restaurant.

Excellent breakfast choice. However serving tea in a metal reapot is poor because the tea gets cold very quickly. They should invest in porcelain or china teapots and tea cosy to keep it hot.

  • Hello, please could you tell me how much it costs to get from Burano to Venice, and if we would need to book this travel in advance? Thanks

Dear Sir, By water taxi, we recommend to book the service in advance and the fare is about 125 euro from Burano (or Mazzorbo) to Venice Island (during daytime). By "Vaporetto"- line 12, the cost is Euro 7,50 to Fondamente nove stop

Dear Guests, we can arrange a transfer by water taxi. Please let us know flight details and estimated time of arrival and we will inform you about the price.

  • where is the best parking lot near your hotel and how to come to you from there?

Garage San Marco at Piazzale Roma then line 4.2 or 5.2 to Fondamente Nove and line 12 to Mazzorbo. Or “Marina Fiorita Parking” at Treporti just in front the vaporetto stop for line 12 to Mazzorbo

  • Hi! We are coming to stay with you this summer! What is the cheapest way to get to your hotel from Piazzale Roma? Thank you

The most cost-saving option is by Vaporetto. From Piazzale Roma you need to reach "Fondamente nove" stop and from there take number 12 and get off at "Mazzorbo" stop. The hotel is located 100 mt left of the Vaporetto stop.

Company information

Venissa’s mission to preserve the natural beauty of the lagoon means that sustainability is at the core of its offering. This commitment was twice awarded by Condé Nast Johansens with the “Best for Green Practices and Sustainability” title.

Property information

Located on Mazzorbo Island, in the most untouched part of the Venetian Lagoon, Venissa is project of agricultural rejuvenation and sustainable hospitality with rooms, two restaurants and a niche, native wine production all set within a verdant and peaceful one-hectare estate surrounded by medieval walls. Venissa Wine Resort features five tastefully decorated rooms restored from the original manor house. Rooms have a scenic view of the garden and vineyard on one side, and the lagoon on the other. The sweet and savoury homemade breakfast – including buffet and à la carte options – is served every day in the spaces of the Osteria Contemporanea – the airy Cantinone or, in good weather, the scenic Sottoportico facing the garden and vineyard. Venissa offers a range of experiences for a true immersive experience in the atmosphere of the Venetian lagoon. These include tastings of its own Venissa and Venusa wines, guided tours of the islands and more. Our staff is at guests’ disposal to plan and make the most of their stay.

Neighbourhood information

The two dining options on site include the Venetian-modern, convivial cuisine of the Osteria Contemporanea and the cucina ambientale of Ristorante Venissa (Michelin-Star and Green Michelin Star), where the native ingredients of the lagoon are creatively transformed into 7- or 9-course menus combining taste of place and environmental practices. For a quick bite or a relaxed aperitivo, Venissa’s waterfront bar is open daily from morning to evening with drinks and a selection of small plates from the Osteria’s kitchen.
