It´s a nice town, with some lovely beaches and in a...
It´s a nice town, with some lovely beaches and in a beautiful setting. It is also a good location to explore the area since it´s easy to drive to e.g. Verona or even Venice or Milan, and there are lots of beautiful spots to visit around the lake - I especially recommend a visit to Limone sul Garda, with the Limonaia museum and a wonderful medieval "centro storico" and to Simione, but there are also some beautiful trails to walk, hike or drive in the area and not too long a drive up to the Dolomites. Toscolano-Maderno is basically a tourist town during the season, but make sure to visit the churches there, especially the gorgeous Chiesa parrocchiale dei Santi Pietro e Paolo, which looks unassuming from the outside but is absolutely gorgeous once you enter. If you like nature walks, the Valle delle Cartiere is lovely (right above T-M).HallaIceland - 10Scored 10

I am not a neutral person to judge Maderno. I am visiting this place since I am a child and feel so much love for this little Village, that my view is blinded by pink color clouds :-) I wished this could be my home when I am retired.

Wonderful locaction on the lake, which we used as a base to travel to different towns each day. Car and passenger ferries both stop at Toscolano Moderno, making it really accessible for those without their own car. A lovely selection of lakeside restaurants here too, serving some delicious food.

I really recommend to take a walk from the main road to the papermillmuseum. After visiting the museum, don't forget to continue the walk uphill to see more of the history of paper making in toscalano

Toscalano Maderno was a lovely resort with a beautiful promenade and a great place from which to explore Lake Garda. We were self catering and there was an excellent supermarket near the centre of the resort which stocked everything you need. There were some nice cafe's and restaurants - the one by the boat landing was a favourite of ours. There were also suitable places to paddle and to swim in the Lake.LoraineUnited Kingdom

I had messed up the date on our reservation and they realized it immediately and accommodated the change. There is an in-house restaurant and bar service that is exceptional! The food is delicious and served on the veranda in the back of the hotel, surrounded by greenery. Everything is within walking distance, the lake is 2 minutes away and there is a long boardwalk, not sure how long it actually is because after 2 hours walking I was exhausted :DBonnieItaly

Diana and Ornella especially went out of their way to help. They organised restaurant bookings and went over and beyond what they needed to do.
