Lovely cottage in the woods! Great location near to the key sights and hosts are extremely thoughtful…everything—literally everything—was provided except a Zojirushi rice cooker. The accommodation seemed new too, and was spotlessly clean. We saw a shooting star on our last night there near our porch and it was simply magical!

Nice place to stay for a few days in Yakushima: comfortable, clean and well maintained cottages in good location with quick and easy access to many trailheads (one needs a car, of course, to travel in Yakushima). Kitchen is small but sufficient for self catering. Owner lives on site. There are shared use washers and dryers. Each cottage has adjacent parking spot for easy loading/unloading of luggage. Our cottage was spotlessly clean on arrival. Overall, a pleasant stay. This is our second stay at this property and we will stay here again next time we're in Yakushima.

The cottage village was easy to find and access by car. Each cottage has its own parking place beside the building. That’s very convenient. The location is great. Reaching hiking routes from there is easy. A supermarket is like 10 minutes away by car. The place was very clean. There is a small kitchen. Cooking simple meals is possible. The air conditioner worked well and kept the place warm enough during the night. The beds were comfortable. The staff were friendly. We had a really good time staying there.

Location! Near Anbo which was a nice village to go to visit restaurants. The little house was equiped with everything we needed and it is so nice that outside you can watch the stars. Very friendly staff!

EVERYTHING! The location ( short walk to busstop which we appreciated as we can't drive), the aesthetics of the place that you cant find anywhere else, the cottage itself which was sooo cute, cosy and had everything we need!! We used the kitchen to cook breakfast and dinner and it had everything we need. They had free laundry as well which is amazing! And a general store with vending machines. They even had hammocks and massage cushion. We enjoyed having breakfast at the front porch and stargazing at night. The view is spectacular. If there's a place that I feel someone should stay in at least once in their lives, it's definitely Cottage Morinokage. We are looking forward to coming back.

Mr. Nakashima, his wife and their stuff are the Most wonderful poeple. They speak very wenn english, they are always helpful and they can give very Good Information about everything what to do on Yakushima. Transport, Restaurants, hiking spots…. The Little Huts are all build by himself. The location near amnbo ist quite Good. Five minutes to the busstop. But its worth it to hire a car, so you are much more flexible. We had had the Most wonderful stay on Mr, Nakashimas place in our four week journey through Japan. Thank you 👏👏👏
