The capital of Japan, Tokyo is a vast, teeming metropolis nestled between mountains and Tokyo Bay. It’s so huge that you’ll have to come to grips with public transport and maybe even experience being pushed onto a train. Yes, it does actually happen!
Get your bearings by ascending the Tokyo World Trade Center near the waterfront, and savor the fantastic views taking in the red-and-white Tokyo Tower and Shinkuju’s skyscrapers. North is Ueno, home to the best museums (including the Tokyo National Museum) and a large park bursting with cherry blossom in spring.
Equally tranquil are the Chiyoda Imperial Palace and Gardens, surrounded by water. Also in gardens is the Meiji Jingu Shinto shrine in Shibuya, a youthful district where neon abounds.
For more traditional Japanese culture, head to Asakusa whose Sensō-ji Buddhist temple is Tokyo’s oldest temple. Outdoor markets sell a variety of wares, though shopping in Tokyo is, of course, fantastic wherever you go.
Whether you stay in a Japanese ryokan, luxury Tokyo hotel or a hostel, don’t fly out of Tokyo Narita Airport or Haneda Airport without having tried sushi. Another Japanese institution is the sento (public bath) and onsen (hot springs bath) – a must try. Also incredibly popular are Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea, Asia’s 2 most visited theme parks.

Very much crowded at stations and in public/shopping places. transportation system is excellent but not easy to handle for foreigners who don't know Japanese. Book early in advance to your staying should you wish to visit museums!. More consumeristic than US (!). Be ready for long queues to eat typical Japanese/Tokyo food at the hundreds of small restaurants (prices are very reasonable). City is very clean (I have not seen someone to throw papers/trash on the public places or on the streets :)). Many fun places and situations different from our habits.

It's always a wonderful staying in Tokyo, especially in the Cherry Blossoms season. I have the chance to be there every year to spend a few days training Karate, and always find time to hang out with old friends and have wonderful food everyday!!

Tokyo is easy to navigate for someone new to international travel, everything is clean and people are very friendly and helpful. The ramen in Tokyo is the best of everywhere we stayed and all of the food is super cheap and great quality. Shopping and arcade type locations are everywhere. There are lots of darts, baseball and table tennis venues around Shibuya for people wanting to stay a little more active. I would avoid Disneyland/Sea as even when we went during what was supposed to be a slower period, it was extremely crowded with 3 hour waits for rides.

Tokyo is an amazing city where tradition and futuristic modernity coexist together. There is every kind of attraction for every taste. The food choices are just amazing. The overall value is far beyond compared to any other big city.

We went on Sakura Season, feels too crowded.
We went on Sakura Season, feels too crowded. We eat at Tokyo Station, long queue and must finish our lunch quick. Some restaurants that we want are sold out, but what I loved about Japan they prefer maintain quality by limit the customer than be greedy.

Only had one full day in Tokyo and it was freezing cold and blowing a gale so did not go far from the Hotel which was quite a long way from the City Centre. Walked and found a shopping mall nearby which had an American style restaurant so we could have western food for our lunch as we do not eat Japanese food. We did not go into the city, too cold and too much hassle to try and find our way around. Next day we boarded our ship to circumnavigate Japan on our 15 night cruise so we saw and experienced a lot. We will not go back to Japan as there are too many other places in the world to visit.
This felt like an older capsule hotel, but I found it to be pretty cozy. One of the cheapest accommodations you can get in Tokyo, and it’s in the active area of Ueno.
Ameya Yokocho Market is like a 5 minute walk, Ueno park around 7-10 minute walk, and Ueno station around 10-15 minute walk. There is a metro station about two minutes away from building.
WiFi was good. There are toilets and sinks on every floor. Washer and dryers are available in building. There’s like a work or desk area on the third floor, but it was pretty small.
Hotel is of high standards, consistent globally. It is in the heart of the government buildings so everything around is easy for tourist and there is a lot of non Japanese places like pizza/sizzler etc. best of all u can walk to Shinjuku bustling hub (mostly underground) in 15 minutes…so very convenient. Also chu park next door has Starbucks and it’s a very nice park just to get a break from the business. Also a very very handy mini supermarket (not 7/11) down the road where we got blueberries/cucumbers and snacks.
Comfortable hotel in excellent location - very friendly and helpful staff - and we liked the cafe bar on site (the breakfast was good). The rooms are small but bigger than we expected - try a twin rather than a double for more space - and very clean with good facilities. The hotel is in a great area, loads of cafes and restaurants on the doorstep, and walkable to Shinjuku, Meiji Jingu, Harajuku and Shibuya or catch the train nearby. We loved staying here and would stay again. Thank you, La'gent Hotel!
The hotel had a fantastic location, not too close to the busiest areas of Tokyo like Shibuya or Shinjuku and not so far that travel would be a hassle. I had a fantastic experience at the hotel, the staff was friendly and helpful and the living areas were exceptionally clean. There's a 7-11 right opposite the hotel so you have nothing to worry if you need anything 24x7. This place exceeded my expectations and I'm considering to stay here again when I visit Tokyo in the future!
Great location , in a quiet section of Shinjuku. The public bath area was spacious, clean and has all amenities. Breakfast has a good variety of food , delicious and they make egg benedict with 2 types of sauces for you upon request. Love the park next to the hotel. I requested a room on the higher floors facing the park and it was granted. View from the sky roof was fantastic. Love the slippers, pyjamas and robe in the room to use at the public bath.
My stay was excellent and I would come here again. The staff, the room and the onsen were amazing! The location was perfect as it was right next to convenience stores, the Toei Ōedo Line and even a post office. Shinjuku Central Park was just a short walk away. The room had air conditioning, comfortable bed, a tv with useful information, a bath tub and comfy yukata. It all felt very luxurious and I would highly recommend this hotel!
VERY clean! Mattresses are on the harder side - I personally like this, but others may not. The pillows were awesome. Location is excellent in Shinjuku. Lots of amenities. Lockers are big, but don't fit very large suitcases. The included breakfast was a coupon for free breakfast at Caffe Veloce down the street from the hostel (approx. 3 min. walk); the tuna melt was tasty. Honestly one of the nicest capsule hotels I've stayed in.
This was my first time staying in a capsule hotel, and I will admit that I was a bit nervous about it. But IT. WAS. AWESOME! Honestly, my stay completely changed my views on capsule hotels. All areas were extremely clean, and I felt very safe the entire time, which was one of my concerns before. The staff explained everything clearly, and there was a GORGEOUS view of Tokyo Tower from the rooftop deck. 10/10 would recommend!!
We really appreciate the owner’s hospitality. My husband left his thermal clothing and the owner helped and send it to our friend’s address in Japan.
The property is actually conveniently located near Kanda stn, one stop away from Tokyo stn. Next to the property, we can find convenient stores. Not far, can find a lot of good restaurants also.
The plus point is def the washing machine.
I loved the location of this property. It wasn’t in central tokyo, or the big cities, but it was so convenient. The subway station is only a minute away, and there’s a supermarket right behind the hotel as well. When heading to the bigger cities, such as Shibuya and Shinjuku, you need to transfer trains, but it’s very convenient nonetheless. I would definitely stay here again ◡̈
Cost performance is excellent. The location is also close to two major subway lines. The cleaning is also well done and the bed sheets and towels are changed daily. Although breakfast is provided I did not eat there but seems to be standard for hotels in this category. WiFi had enough broadband for video chats.
The location is most convenient as it is located on top of a mall and next to the train station. You can see the famous Shibuya Crossing from the hotel hallway or corner crossing view rooms. Walkable to restaurants, shopping, train station, parks, etc. I would definitely stay here again if back in Tokyo.
The cleanliness and the staff members assistance
AND the breakfast buffet!
I used this hotel for participating 2023 Tokyo Marathon. It was only for approx. 10 min walk from the JR Shinjuku station (West Entrance), across from Chuo Park. Probably just 5 minutes walk to the starting area for the race.
The overall vibe of the hotel was amazing, especially the lobby/common area. The onsen was nice as well. The area was great as well, a lot of good restaurants and very near major train lines like the Ginza line, so going to the major areas like Shibuya, Shinjuku, and Ginza was not a problem.
The Hotel is really close to the trainstation. So you reach cities like Shibuya and Shinjuku in around 15-20 minutes. There are restaurants and convenience stores close by too.
For the capsule itself, it was okay. Not too comfortable, but it had everything you needed.
Authentic Tokyo experience. TV was equipped with Amazon Prime and Netflix (for some reason hotels don’t have that). The host also was kind enough to give us a personal tour around Shinjuku to show us some spots we missed on our last visit here.
Convenient place. Just 5mins from JR Otsuka Station (Yamanote-line). You can easily take JR loop-line to Shinjuku, Shibuya, Ueno, Tokyo Station...
1 min to have Lawson Combini.
Convenient hotel with very necessary things, clean and new.
We'd enjoyed staying in Jal city Haneda Tokyo over all... But our only concern is no smoking area inside the hotel it's cold outside to take cigarette 🚬 thank u.me and my husband is looking forward to stay again in you're hotel.
My Husband and I stayed here for our trip to Tokyo. The hotel is conveniently located, a quick walk to shopping and dining options. It’s also a quick walk to the Senso Ji temple and Asakusa train station. We enjoyed our stay.
Great location on the subway lines. Quick access the Shinjuku and Shibuya, as well as Tokyo station. Comfortable and relatively quiet hotel in the middle of town.
